Dem congresswoman: How about a Department of Peacebuilding?

California Democratic Rep. Barbara Lee has introduced legislation to create a federal Department of Peacebuilding that would cultivate peace and take on the causes of violence and conflict.

Lee’s legislation H.R. 808 “Department of Peacebuilding Act of 2013″ also would create a Cabinet-level Secretary of Peacebuilding focused on creating peace and preventing violence.

“This culture of violence that we live in is unacceptable,” Lee said in a statement her office distributed earlier this month. “On our streets and across the globe, the pervasive presence of violence has infected the lives of millions, and it is far past time we address it as a nation. We invest hundreds of billions each year in the Pentagon, in war colleges, military academies, and our national defense universities all to develop war tactics and strategies.” …

The legislation would require the department to develop national strategies and programs to encourage violence prevention, and dispute resolution to reduce problems such as gun violence, racial and ethnic violence and violence against LGBT Americans and women.

Then give her prop’s for voting her principle’s, say unlike certain libertarian-GOP members who vote “Aye” but then condemn former Veeps to H3ll.

The House vote for declaring war on Imperial Japan was not unanimous either.

How about:
A Department of Sandwich Making
A Department of Shoe Kissing
A Department of Cause Awareness
A Department of Bathroom Cleaning (probably the most practical idea for a department so far)
A Department of Starbucks Loving
A Department of Making Up New National Holidays
A Department of Yelling At FoxNews
A Department of Food Banning (wait, that’s the FDA, isn’t it?)
A Department of Taking Your Money (oh, snap. We already have one of these, too)
A Department of …

You get the picture.

Also, can anyone check to see whether any of my ideas for departments are already implemented? I tried to, but my eyes just glazed over.

What she wants is 20,000 more federal employees reliably voting Dem and marketing crises that need solutions as the stepping stone to creating their civilian corps to facilitate progressive indoctrination.

Cultivate Peace: Indoctrinating and forcing the populace to behave in accordance with Left Wing state agenda.

Causes of Violence: Anyone who disagrees with the Left Wing state agenda, regardless of whether they actually behave in a violent manner. Actual violence by supporters of the Left Wing state agenda is considered to be in the interest of Cultivating Peace.

Agreed. I prefer this to someone who voted for it but denounced it like Hagel or Clinton or Murtha. Open nuts are better than covert nuts.

I think that the Ministry of Peace has a better ring to it. Heck, I’d even settle for the Department of Homeland Peace. DHP and DHS could work hand in hand to find a more friendly way for TSA to feel you up or eventually shoot you down.
