Evangelical pastors ready to mobilize for 2014 election: “America has left God”
The Brody File has learned that the evangelical-based American Renewal Project will be organizing pastor policy briefings and voter registration drives across this country in 12 key states during the 2014 election cycle. It’s their latest attempt to restore America to its Judeo-Christian heritage.
Their goal is to engage pastors around issues so they will get their congregations to participate in the political process and flock to voting booths. Right now, tens of millions of evangelical Christians simply don’t vote. The states that will be targeted in 2014 are Colorado, Iowa, Louisiana, Montana, South Carolina, Alaska, Arkansas, North Carolina, Nevada, South Dakota, Virginia, and West Virginia.
In addition, The Brody File has learned that their first “Pastors and Pews” event is scheduled for the last week of May in Des Moines, Iowa. More than 400 pastors and their spouses will be on hand. Invited to speak right now: Sen. Marco Rubio, Sen. Rand Paul and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal.

I agree with the sentiment, but the best way to act is to refuse to vote. If you vote then you give legitimacy to the system.

I would argue its the other way around, which makes it too late to change.

I can see the political side, but it doesn’t fix the problem that people are becoming more nonreligious and secular in their lifestyles.

After years of Progressives asking, “What would Jesus do?”, they are now going to find out.

He never leaves us or forsakes us. Hebrews 13, verse 5. It is indeed we who left Him. Many times in the Bible, through the books of Kings, Chronicles, and the major prophets, He is imploring His sottish people, asking that they repent from whatever incompetent tyrant they have happened to support at that moment and return to Him. There is nothing new under the sun. This is far from the first time man has been foolish and decadent.

May you be backtraced, tied to a tree, and flogged until you resemble Raggedy Ann.

They should be blunt. If you voted Democrat in 2008 and 2012, then you are practicing evil and unrepentant. As such, God demands, through the word of his son that we not associate with you.
2 Thessalonians Chapter 3
6. Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.

Frankly at this point I would hear out someone who said that splitting from the liberal states had Biblical backing. We have simply degenerated THAT FAR.
9 times as many babies died in their mother’s wombs than Jews died in ovens. Millions more are dead or dying from incurable STDs gone rampant from our “screw like a monkey just wear a rubber” ‘sex ed’ programs and attitude in general. And these are only part of the casualties caused by one aspect of liberalism. (sexual immorality)
The wages of sin and liberalism are death. I for one do not want to have to stand beside them when the butcher’s bill finally comes due.

God has not shown much precision in his strikes, has he?
I really wish there was a SERIOUS push in Texas to leave the Union. I think if Texas did it, there would dozens of states ready to join.

I can’t even get my mind around this. They couldn’t get off the couch to vote Obama out?
BuckeyeSam on February 26, 2013 at 3:59 PM
Oh, come now, that is a statement that applies to individual Christians, not to states or political entities. God left Israel to their own consequences many times. The Bible is rather clear about what happens to societies that turn their backs on him.

God makes it rather clear that choosing to live in the midst of utter immorality is like living next door to a jihadi training camp: you risk getting blown up along with the bad. Heck, he barely gave Lot time enough to grab his wallet and run out the door with the family before he wiped out an entire city.
And I am absolutely with you on Texas. Especially if any big-name gun makers move there.

Too little too late Christians. I am on your team, but it is too late to start fighting now. You have lost the culture war.

Was that directed at Jew-loving Reverend Wright? Oh that is right…he is one of your chosen races…he is still allowed to hate.
ClassicCon on February 26, 2013 at 4:08 PM
Good job proving my point. They left Him. Just as we have. He’s the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8). All that has changed is that we have abandoned His precepts.
The original claim that it could be “too late to change,” is entirely false. He’s still there, consistent as ever, waiting for us to repent. If we don’t, then expect His efforts to get our attention to become increasingly more clear. Alas, I think we’re so thick at this point it will take quite a bit.

Disappear, no. Go underground, possibly.
We’ll see what transpires in the near future.
MelonCollie on February 26, 2013 at 4:13 PM
With all respect to Gingotts, the Biblical statement about never leaving us or forsaking us applies to individual Christians. It is not a collective statement.
In the bigger picture, Christianity is not really about culture, or politics. It may influence those things, but every culture or society in the world has eventually failed and died. Christianity is about eternal things, namely the soul.

“For we do not fight against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”
Christians always win the true battle. There will always be a remnant. It is culture that has lost the war you speak of.
