I read them for my state, and saw how they could directly impact me.

And I’m fine with it because it’s not as dire as Barry made it out to be.

I swear, if the guy had pulled it back and simply stated something about unclear effects, I’d be more concerned.

You can take the Community out of the Organizer, but you can’t…

Even if you take this at face value it just means that the public sector finally gets to experience a little bit of the pain being felt in the private sector. Remember that the stimulus was primarily devoted to protecting the public sector from feeling any affects of the crappy economy.

Forgot to mention in the above that I believe the Federal government NEEDS to cut. But this is just Kabuki theatre. The government needs to cut everywhere and everything. Ironically, the places where the cuts hit hardest are the one thing (military) the Constitution actually authorizes the Federal government to do.

But that’s progressives for ya.

I’m going to get hit with the sequester but I’ve been planning for some time now.

It’ll be hard, but it won’t be THAT hard. I’ll smile, take my furlough days and then say “See? We CAN cut spending.” (h/t American Enterprise Institute)

My dh is a civilian engineer for the DoD, so he’ll be one of those getting the 20% pay cut for the next six months. We’ll tighten our belts, but we’ve always lived below our means so we’ll be fine. We’re putting together a list of house projects (ones with low materials costs but high labor requirements like painting). And dh already talked to one of the older men at church who was looking for volunteers to help with home repairs for elderly/widows.

What I resent most isn’t the loss in hours/pay, but the fact that it’s not being spread equally across the entire government. Is Obamaphone lady getting her foodstamp rations cut by 20% for the next 6 months? Is the White House wagyu budget being cut 20? Michelle’s vacays? The EPA? (Please!) Obamacare implementation costs? Will the Obama contributors have their “green energy” grant boondoggles cut 20%? Will Planned Parenthood have its government funding cut 20%?

Mr. Obama, when you spread the cuts around, it’s better for everyone. Besides, it’s only fair.
