Paul Ryan changing course on the DREAM Act?
And CNN reported last month that Ryan, himself, was supporting a bipartisan effort in the House on immigration reform and encouraging fellow members to move forward with major immigration reform legislation this year.
Ryan, the 2012 Republican vice presidential nominee, also applauded the president’s tone on immigration during his State of the Union address earlier this month. He told CNN’s Jake Tapper that Obama’s language in the speech was “productive.” …
The congressman, according to his old text on his website, opposed the DREAM Act because it was “a symptom-rather than the root cause-of our current problems.” Ryan argued that the U.S. must first secure the border and build an enforceable guest worker program before pursuing such “piecemeal reforms like the DREAM Act.”
However, that specific language is gone and the website now says that “immigration legislation must include a fair and reasonable way to address the more than 11 million undocumented immigrants currently in the United States, of which over seven million are employed, contributing members of our economy.” That includes a path forward “for the DREAMers,” it states.

ROFL…this is my shocked face:) Ryan typical sell out. He did it on medicare part D he did it on the auto bailouts he did it on AIG pay. Rayn isn’t a conservative he just plays one on TV.
this is suppose to be as of NOV6th 2012 the “savior” of the GOP. the new blood? Really. Get you head out of your butts people. Rayn can be the poster child along with Rubio as the “sell outs of 2013″

GAAAWWD. The hits just keep coming.
Are there any real men left in DC?

Meh. Color me surprised. Not.
Why else do you suppose that our overlords allowed Ryan to run for VP in the past election?

The GOP will betray you

The GOP must die…
ninjapirate on February 23, 2013 at 9:38 AM
Oh, shut up with that “GOP must die” idiocy. Why don’t you just support candidates who aren’t for amnesty.
I’m for Ted Cruz, our next president.

Overlords? Who are you people commenting?
bluegill on February 23, 2013 at 9:46 AM
Gee, Ryan is progressive? Who would have thought! Who could have predicted this, say around the time he was picked by ROMNEY?
astonerii on February 23, 2013 at 9:46 AM
Well said. That and “The GOP will betray you” are both silly catchphrases. It is not “deep” to repeat them constantly, it is just drama queen nonsense.
Irritable Pundit on February 23, 2013 at 9:50 AM
That must make Palin a progressive as well, since she is also for forms of amnesty.
bluegill on February 23, 2013 at 9:50 AM
Neither Palin nor Ryan is a progressive, but I don’t agree with them on certain issues related to immigration reform.
We need a strong, articulate, forceful, persuasive representative who will take the lead on border security and opposing amnesty. Who will emerge to fill this role?
bluegill on February 23, 2013 at 10:00 AM
There is a difference between them. When Palin has a bad position, it is an ANOMOLY for her. Her ACCOMPLISHEMENTS in office have a different tale to tell. ALL OF RYANS accomplishments are of the same kind, progressive.
astonerii on February 23, 2013 at 10:07 AM
I’m actually surprised that you are a fan of Ted Cruz. He might have an Ivy League education, but he does come off as Sarah Palin in tone.
I’m surprised this is news. Ryan has been making noises on immigration reform since December; he publicly supported the plan the day after Rubio announced this. it seems that he is deliberately trying to model the rest of his Congressional career off of Jack Kemp. Too much is riding on this for both Rubio and Ryan politically in the future to appear shrill on this issue.
