Laura Bush: Take me out of that pro-gay-marriage ad
“Mrs. Bush did not approve of her inclusion in this advertisement nor is she associated in any way with the group that made the ad,” Anne MacDonald, a spokeswoman for the former first lady, wrote in a statement Thursday. “When she became aware of the advertisement Tuesday night, we requested that the group remove her from it.”
The ad, from the Respect for Marriage Coalition, features Bush speaking in a 2010 CNN interview with Larry King.

Now SHE is the only Bush I would ever vote for. She is a proud conservative and she proves it time and time again.
I would LOVE to see W in the position of White House spouse. LOL!

Hahaha!
Sue ‘em, Laura. You may not win, but you can make ‘em pay.
petefrt on February 21, 2013 at 11:38 AM
Good for you Laura! Thanks for standing up for your conviction.
BTW, I miss Bush and Laura.

If you do not want to be used by the enemy, do not spout the enemies propaganda. You own it Laura and this should be a lesson to you and others. Do not hop on the bandwagon, but remain true to your ideals.
astonerii on February 21, 2013 at 11:39 AM
You forgot classy. But I guess that could fall under the umbrella of being conservative.
ButterflyDragon on February 21, 2013 at 11:39 AM
If she had convictions she would not be in the situation she is in right now.
astonerii on February 21, 2013 at 11:40 AM
Laura Bush hates gay people.
Neo on February 21, 2013 at 11:53 AM
She was no fun at all. We never got to admire her bare shoulders. /s
Seriously, and this current imbroglio aside, what a classy First Lady she was.
Drained Brain on February 21, 2013 at 11:54 AM
How dumb are you?
She obviously supports gay-marriage. She’s simply asking to be removed from a political ad.
Does disagreement somehow debase conviction? Compulsory conformity is for fascists. Go join your fascist friends at Strmfrnt.
Also, you’re a hypocrite. I can think of myriad other sins that have not ever appeared on your radar as exclusionary to marriage.
Capitalist Hog on February 21, 2013 at 11:56 AM
You betcha!
DannoJyd on February 21, 2013 at 12:01 PM
Feel free to list them.
She is for those rights, but only when it is the right politician in power? Conviction remain consistent. Her views are inconsistent. Thus, they are not convictions.
astonerii on February 21, 2013 at 12:01 PM
And there you have it.
The ad is creepy and very bizarre – of course Mrs. Bush didn’t sign off on it.
Pork-Chop on February 21, 2013 at 12:03 PM
Her husband was worse. All he ever did was work.
Xavier on February 21, 2013 at 12:04 PM
I’ll bet you see this as her supporting HOMOsexual marriage, right? Most apparently, she does not.
As for the rest, considering how you are another IRRELEVANT mere gather of tushie splinters, you can kiss my royal Irish derriere since you did more to get the current Communist styled Regime elected than most.
DannoJyd on February 21, 2013 at 12:05 PM
Yep! Thanks for NOT A THING!
DannoJyd on February 21, 2013 at 12:11 PM
Look at the date, delusional to the very end. After the first debate, I actually had thought Romney might win. It certainly helped push me to the point to decide I could live with a protest vote against Obama. But it went downhill from there on out. Still imagining a Romney win Nov 5th!?!
astonerii on February 21, 2013 at 12:17 PM
One thing is for sure. We would have been reading a lot more bad news about rising gasoline prices, North Korea’s threats, Iran’s nuclear ambitions, the faltering recovery, and the President’s inability to reach out to one branch of Congress.
Drained Brain on February 21, 2013 at 12:29 PM
To quote your savior, “all of them.”
What in the crapdragon are you talking about? We all get one vote.
Damn right I fight til the end.

Laura Bush on gay marriage and abortion
Capitalist Hog on February 21, 2013 at 12:36 PM
Regardless of her political positions, Laura Bush is a classy woman. One of the classiest women to come through Washington, DC in a long time. I miss having her as First Lady, and I think it’s abhorrent that she would be used in a political ad without her consent.
Laura Bush. Condoleeza Rice. Dana Perino.
Nancy Pelosi. Valerie Jarrett. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz.
I judge presidents by the company they keep…

You fight like a progressive.
I am not a Palinista.
You are a progressive stalin worshiper though. It seeths through in every post you chose to stain with your filth.

I’ll take a Palinista over a Marxist pig.

Capitalist Hog on February 21, 2013 at 2:05 PM
I do not really care about your feelings. When you have a fact based argument to bring to the debate, then I will care.
astonerii on February 21, 2013 at 2:07 PM
I feel like I’m watching a Hitler vs. Stalin cagematch….Can both these bozos lose?

Butthurt or not, astonerii gets it right, here.

“One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors”. Plato
Voting is nice but being involved is RELEVANT!
DannoJyd on February 21, 2013 at 2:26 PM
Exactly!
Starting last April I was begging the Romney ilk to get involved so as to give us half of a chance to win last year, but they were ‘too busy’ to get off of their benches and they could NEVER give me a single decent message for supporting mittens to share with voters, thus I was right. Romney lost.
Tomorrow I’ll be at the MIGOP Convention. We know where the Romney supporters will be. STILL!
DannoJyd on February 21, 2013 at 2:30 PM
Well, that is very magnanimous of you. Thanks!
Maybe I have been a bit less than open to your arguments. I will refresh my view in the future to be less biased against them.
