Endgame: GOP Sen. Richard Shelby to vote yes on Hagel
Shelby said he has concerns about former Republican Sen. Chuck Hagel, President Barack Obama’s nominee for Sectary of Defense, but he plans to vote for him and expects the Senate to confirm the nomination.
“He’s probably as good as we’re going to get,” Shelby said.
Shelby said he plans to vote in favor of Jack Lew, Obama’s nominee for Secretary of the Treasury. Lew formerly served as the White House budget director and chief of staff. Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Mobile, has said he will oppose the Lew nomination.

Well thanks for fighting on behalf of the nation, Mr. Representative of the People, you can get back to your generous expense account and two-hour lunch now; sorry to have bothered you.

From Obama, yeah he probably is. But from the entire pool of candidates who are out there, we can do far better. It’s not crass partisanship to state that undeniable truth publicly.

As long as we so quickly accept the bad why would we ever get the good?

Yea, conservatives spend too much time hunting RINOs. We need to open our tent more to moderates are risk losing control.

And sadly Alabama would re-elect him without a second thought. Sometimes I wonder if Alabamians would vote for a Marxist if he put a R next to his name. “After all he’s a Republican, isn’t he?”

I like that post, because, sadly, it probably reflects reality more than we know.
None of this will end well.

BUNK! Conservatives replace RINO’s so as to get ACTUAL Representation from their elected representatives.
Didn’t you get the memo?
DannoJyd on February 21, 2013 at 10:19 AM
This is the most manifestly unqualified candidate to come before the senate in years. Shelby’s remarks were disgraceful.
Tomolena1 on February 21, 2013 at 10:20 AM
A ‘Moderate is a person who doesn’t want to have a public point of view. They don’t want to have to offer an opinion. They refuse to fight for anything. That’s precisely what moderates are.
We call them Sheeple here.

This has been the entire problem with the GOP approach.
How about you caucus, and pick two candidates you would all agree to vote for, or at least an overwhelming majority. One GOP, and one Dem. Both will, by default, be infinitely better choices than Obama’s guy. You pre-clear their passage, and guarantee a fast track nomination with your full blessing.
The comparison can then be made to the quality of Obama’s pick, and the clear alternatives. You cannot be accused of wrangling only for a GOP candidate, since you have offered one from each side. And then frame the issue as one of Obama being entrenched in his defense of an indefensible candidate, in the face of your offer of two far superior choices.

I’m shocked that the GOP would allow this hack to be SecDef…yeah, shocked, really, like I mean it…shocked…uh-huh.
