Obama’s sequestration strategy: Shame
With the parties at an impasse on stopping across-the-board budget cuts set to hit March 1, the White House is prepping another multimedia, cross-country drive to stoke public outrage against congressional Republicans.
Certain that the political winds are in their favor, they’re forgoing serious negotiations for a high-risk public offensive, banking almost entirely on the president’s ability to persuade. They believe that the GOP will be scared of taking the blame from an angry public — and the White House says this is just the kind of thing that gave them the victory they claimed in the fiscal cliff fight and the most recent standoff over the debt limit…
But if Republicans hold to their cuts-only approach — as they insist they will — and the sequester kicks in, Obama could face a fiscal crisis that threatens to tank the economy and sideline his top legislative priorities such as immigration reform and gun control…
“The president is going to try and pretend that his enemy on this is us,” said Michael Steel, a spokesman for Boehner. “His enemy is reality. The president created the sequester and insisted on it, House Republicans have acted twice to replace it. If there’s going to be a solution here, he’s going to have to work with his own political party in the Senate.”

So who actually believes the GOP will stand firm on this?

Even Politico is starting to admit that the Obama Campaign is exclusively interested in destroying its enemies. The policies can only come after power is fully consolidated.

Can we put and end to this bullshyte notion that modestly cutting government spending will ruin the economy? Government waste is not what drives the economy! Not long after the economy crashed in 2008 the Dems drastically increased spending and have maintained it since then yet we have had an extremely sluggish recovery. Also, our economy was much better under Bush when spending was lower.
I can’t believe that this Keynesian nonsense which has proven to be a failure in the real world is just accepted as undeniable truth.

Would someone please just spank the little president who continues to cry “Wolf!” over and over again?
Fallon on February 20, 2013 at 4:20 PM
I, for once, do. I haven’t even heard the usual wobbly suspects even rhetorically entertaining a compromise.
Obama is wanting to renege on his own plan that he wanted and signed into law. He can go fuq himself. He already got his tax hikes – he has nothing left to offer us.

Did you see him during his first term? It’s all he does. Rallies, softball interviews, and vacations.

B. Obama, the first and we can hope the last President who makes the use of the word despise seem tame and all of U.S. still searching for a better word.

Except for the dole roll members who want more and call him chincey.

If Obama is so concerned about those that will be deprived of something if sequester goes into effect, then, perhaps, he and his family can lay off the vacays. The fam only costs us $1.4 billion last year. That’s a lot of food for people, medicine for autistic kids, and (the failed and wasteful) Head Start programme for many preschoolers.

Obama doesn’t have any special ability to persuade anyone. What he has is a propagandist, activist media which demonizes Republicans on his behalf.
