Absolutely true. But I wouldn’t vote for him for President.

By what measure? The state is still one of the worst for business. His high approval isn’t based on anything but his embrace of Obama and the resulting love from the media.

BTW, the only thing that has happended since his last rating of 56% was that he went on David Letterman’s show, something else that conservatives are of course never supposed to do, and survived a brief assault by the MSM over his weight.

I don’t care if his approval hits 100% in New Jersey, I would never, ever, ever vote for him. Ever.

74%? Pretty soon it should reach the 98% he agrees with Cuomo on. For the record, there is no way in heck I will ever vote for a North Eastern Republican for anything higher than state office. The Republican party in the North East, and I mean virtually 100% of the people who represent the GOP and have control within the party, are flat out liberals. It’s simply a matter of who gets to carve up the pie to their friends.

I would no more get off my sofa to vote for Christie as President than I would have for Mike Castle for senator in Maryland. What would be the point?

Do you think a Romney/Christie ticket would upset many Republicans who consider themselves “very conservative”? Or would they be won over in the end?

I think it would be a strong pairing, though I wouldn’t want Christie’s persona to overshadow the top of the ticket.

I can tell you that I currently live in NJ, and will be moving shortly to IL due to work, and I was very pleasantly surprised to find that the tax climate in IL is actually better than NJ.

That tells you about all you need to know about what Christie finds important.

I don’t support everything that the man has done, but I do have a question for you:

Those are the number of Democrats and Republicans, respectively, in the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate, respectively. What do you propose he do? It’s the equivalent of 261-174 Democrat edge in the House and a 60-40 Democrat edge in the Senate. What would you expect of a Republican President with that situation in Congress?
