“I find it amusing that those in Washington are puzzled when someone actually does what they said they would do”
“Washington has a long tradition of trying to hurl insults to silence those who they don’t like what they’re saying,” Cruz told reporters on a visit to a Texas gun manufacturer. “I have to admit I find it amusing that those in Washington are puzzled when someone actually does what they said they would do.”
Employees at LaRue Tactical near Austin cheered the senator enthusiastically during his appearance…
“Washington is a rough-and-tumble place, and I certainly don’t mind if some will take shots at me,” said Cruz, who has been unusually assertive for a freshman senator. “What I do think is unfortunate is if the coverage of the political game overshadows the substance.”

Obama threatened a sequester (demanded it, in fact) and now that it’s here, he’s freaking out.
Why, Mr. President? You’re getting your way. Again.
On topic – good for Cruz. He’s loaded for bear.

Thank you so much Cruz for keeping your word. Please don’t let the good ole boy r’s/bhopress or anyone else make you become a rino!
Yes, Ted you are rare, you told us if we voted for you would do what you said and so far you are.
PLEASE don’t blow it Ted, please!

Which it does quite regularly. I assume he didn’t stop to drink some water after saying that or else we’d be reading about it everywhere.

I want Ted’s Dad Rafael to run for Cornyn’s slot down here in 2014. He’s even tougher and more hard-nosed than Ted!

NOW that would be great! I don’t know anything about Rafael, but I will keep an eye on him to see if he does run! If he is a tiny bit like Ted, he would be a vast improvement on cornyn, IMO. But we would have to deal with the likes of rove on who we need? It didn’t work with dew-worse did it?

That’s awesome that he was at LaRue. I ordered a bunch of stuff from them last week to reward them for stiffing NY law enforcement.

Because it’s so rare.

Cruz is the only kind of Republican that will ever get my vote.

If they just tried a little bit harder, I think Reuters could have squeezed the word “McCarthyism” in two or three more times.
Pick up the pace guys.

I find it amusing that King CruzCarthy finds it amusing that people just don’t fall in line and bow to him.

i’m so glad he’s not holding back just because he’s a freshman senator. that’s no excuse to not stand up for your principles and be aggressive.

Ted Cruz is great, so far he has not backed down.
He will have to make some deals that is a given.
But not on the base issues, he will not back down.
Yes his dad is hard core conservative, minister in a church here in Texas.
Ted and we hard core Texas conservatives had a 12 year long war inside the Texas Republican Party, it took us all of the 12 years to get control of the committees, the Chairman job, and many more at the Senatatoral Dist. ect..
The Bush’s with the oil money and via Rick Perry and the David Barton “hard core Bible Thumpers” had it locked up.
The work the prior years, the tea party eruptions, and then Ted Cruz making hundreds of meetings all over Texas turned the tide.
The Republican Convention before the Primary between Cruz and Dewhurst was the water shead moment.
Ted drew to be the first to speak.
Huge standing ovation when he came to the microphone, many more within the talk, huge numbers of “Ted Cruz for Senate” signs waved.
Even more at the end , 5 min standing ovation.
The reason, the long struggle to get to that point and to have a guy who is smart, can debate, will look you in the eye, will get with the program and has done so in his work in the courts for Texas.
Dewhurst, came second. At the most 6 to 8 signs waved, only a polite spatter of applause. He did his best but he is a boring uninspired speaker. At the end the same polite applause, and the same 6 to 8 signs waved.
We have scared Cornyn way to the right and our guess is he will not vote with the Democrats at all now , nor make deals with them that can be known.
There is real fear in his operators now. They know we will go after him hard.
This same thing must be done in every state.
We must do a full court press on the Democrats.
Force them to spend money in every race in every state in every level of goverment.
The numbers are on our side if we just work.
Took us 12 years here in Texas. It will take 20 to get things on an even keel.
Freedom, liberty, the rule of law and jobs for our kids are worth the effort.
They will go after Ted Cruz now hard, he is a mortal danger to the two party evil money cult power elite.
The Goebbles News Networks are set to back stab Ted at every turn.
Ted knows this very well and we must stand firm behind him now.
