I get enormous undeserved attention for being beautiful
Like many young people I believe I have potential to make a positive impact in the world. But if I speak from a platform that relies on how I look, I worry that I will not have made room for anyone else to come after me. I will have reinforced that beauty and race and privilege get you a news story. The schoolteacher without adequate support, the domestic worker without rights, they won’t be up there with me.
So what do I do? I am being handed press when good press for important issues is hard to come by. These outlets are the same outlets that spent two years not reporting a new drone base in Saudi Arabia while press in the UK covered it.
They are the same organizations that have forgotten New Orleans and forgotten to follow up on contractors who aren’t fulfilling their responsibilities there — important not only for the people of NOLA, but also for setting a precedent for the victims of Sandy, and of the many storms to come whose frequency and severity will rise as our climate changes.

First of all, who?
Second of all, who cares?
Lastly, “But the most important part of my job is to show up with a 23-inch waist, looking young, feminine and white.”
Oh… White guilt? That’s what this is about? Good job, U.S. educational system.

Save us from more white guilt stupidity.
And I agree with the others…. who is this person? NEver heard of her and she doesn’t look at all familiar.

Woman who makes a living in glib and superficial industry bemoans the fact other industries are becoming glib and superficial.
Man bites dog. The irony is so deep on this angle it’s breathtaking.

Never heard of her. No loss to me it would appear.

What kind of person accepts undeserved money? Second, she is not that good looking.
astonerii on February 18, 2013 at 9:42 PM
The Mona Lisa, Taj Mahal, Michelangelo’s David, all undeserved attention. Because they’re beautiful, and beauty, and art, who gives a crap about that stuff. Women in combat, now THAT’s important.
/Women shouldn’t ever shave their armpits, because it’s just to look good for men

Had to click the link to get a look. Meh. Okay I guess, but not enough to justify the arrogance. The lips look fake.

The HotAir headline writer is being a bit unfair. She is saying no one should care about her. And she’s right.

If Victoria Secret models were 13% of the population but were responsible for 57% of the gun homicides, the police would stop them, too.

Some women can’t understand that appearance in itself can be valuable. They reject that because what they look like is not “who they are”. Or, that they don’t have any control over it. So what. A lot of life is beyond our control, and isn’t about “who we are”.
Paul-Cincy on February 18, 2013 at 10:21 PM
Pretty white guilt.

Arrogant woman, you can give all your easily earned money to the downtrodden leftist categories you mentioned.
Also, to your questions, above, get on a podium and say this “Obama is the biggest charlatanic thugh the world ever experienced”. You’ll make yourelf useful.
Until then, meh, idiot!

Quite honestly, there’s been a slight preference for females to be fairer than the males… only our ancestors acted upon it to the extreme.
http://evoandproud.blogspot.com/2012/05/survival-of-cutest.html
White women(and men) are the descendants of the judges and winning contestants a harsh ice age beauty pageant where women were selected upon and the rest discarded(or ahem, pumped and dumped).
This did really not happen with any other ethnic group(except maybe east asians which were selected on different neotenic features). Other places had better living conditions(and even agriculture). Africans were actually selected the other way where women were the judges and men the contestants.
I’m not sure it’s right to call white women the “most beautiful”, but they’re definitely the most striking… and no cultural marxist nonsense will be able to change that.

I get enormous undeserved attention for being beautiful
Right on! Listen folks – it’s not easy to be as beautiful as Cameron and me! It’s not easy! You need walk to a few steps in our lovely feet to know how tough it is. But you all are ugly inside and outside because you judge us based only on our radiant beauty! There is a normal loving person here behind these stunning eyes. Please, see deeper then my silky smooth skin.

Why can’t I be diverse instead of beautiful? Brainwashed into believing the creepy liberal theology of guilt by beauty.

….so I thought I would go to CNN to draw attention to the fact that I am getting to much undeserved attention.
………….righhhhht.
Give us a break and maybe next time….give us some facts to back up your left wing talking points so you can earn some of this “respect” you think you deserve.
Baxter Greene on February 19, 2013 at 12:58 AM
I’m going to go out on a limb and bet that she thinks Trayvon Martin was some 12 yr. old black kid and Skittle connoisseur, attacked by a crazed “white” Latino racist, simply for walking with a hoodie.
Baxter Greene on February 19, 2013 at 1:09 AM
okay most of you didn’t actually read the article. she’s not being arrogant or full of herself at all, she was being the exact opposite. the entire point of what she said was that she ISN’T someone who deserves special attention- she was being very humble. it was actually a good article, thought it did lean left. but anyway, her attitude was really refreshing. you all just have to bash her for no reason… trying to make snarky comments without thinking and paying attention. usually i appreciate the snark here but wow some of you do it 100% of the time and it’s annoying.
uh, she was criticizing her own industry as well. did you read the article carefully or did you just skim through it?
what in the world…
that statement made no sense. at all. there is no race that is more beautiful or “more striking” than another and it bothers me that people see different levels of beauty in different races when they are all beautiful and striking. and you used some kind of ancestral evidence to support what you said but that was so long ago that it has absolutely nothing to do with modern-day pop culture and beauty standards, so i don’t even know why you brought that up.
Sachiko on February 19, 2013 at 4:11 AM
…actually i thought about it some more and it definitely did not seem to me like you looked at the ancestral evidence and then determined that “white women are the most striking.” it seemed like you already had that idea in your head and THEN tried to find “evidence” to back it up. so that’s why your comment made no sense.
well, nice job feeding into the liberals’ “conservatives are racist” meme. feeding into liberal memes, even though it’s unintentional, is shooting yourself in the foot. and yet i keep seeing conservatives do this.
Sachiko on February 19, 2013 at 4:21 AM
ninja pirate is no conservative. a moby at best if not straight up troll. but don’t let confirmation bias stop any judgement.
tom daschle concerned on February 19, 2013 at 5:23 AM
So, gain 50 pounds and put a stop to the “unfairness”.
What an idiot. At least, she’s doing her part to contribute to the “beautiful = dumb” myth. She should be proud that she’s smearing hot women with her rant. And she’s annoying as all get-out. With a brain and a personality like that, she’s right; if she weren’t hot she wouldn’t have anything.
Beauty fades. For this chick it can’t fade fast enough.

You can add TED Talks to the list of things conservatives need to do better. There’s plenty of interesting lectures available and if you’ve got half a brain it’s a cool site to comb, but the fact is that TED, like most of the media-academic complex, tilts to the left. It’s yet another place where libs can have their prejudices confirmed and massaged with a psuedo-intellectual veneer. We’ve got plenty of places that can react to this stuff, notably Breitbart’s various websites, but we’ve got to be more proactive and get our message out first so that we’re not always on the back heel.

Don’t worry bout it Darlin, while intelligence generally lasts a lifetime beauty mostly has a 10 to 15 year window.
tommyboy on February 19, 2013 at 9:02 AM
It’s a shame, because there are a million reasons why whites might be over represented in any given industry that have nothing to do with either discrimination, or with any inherent superiority of white people. There are all sorts of economic, geographic, and cultural factors that could be at play in explaining why whites could be over-or under represented, in modeling or any other industry.
Conservatives need to remember not to fall for this false dichotomy between “inherent white superiority” and “racism” as the two primary explanations for statistical disparities. It’s rarely accurate, and it almost always benefits the left.

She is beautiful . And empty . And vacuous . And dumb as a tree stump. It is always enlightening to hear from chicks that have lived their entire lives in the alternate hot chick universe where doors are always opened and people always smile .
