Just started reading the Times article on Cruz and wasn’t aware that Hagel is refusing to disclose details on money he received from hostile regimes. In light of this, I think it’s right to hold his nomination until this is resolved.

I’m constantly amazed that some of the best Conservative writing lately has been coming from the Democrat Mickey Kaus. I agree with him on Hagel. It was never worth spending a dime of political capitol in opposing him. Unfortunately, being stupid and saying stupid things is not a bar towards serving in government. Hagel is a dim-witted anti-Israel know-nothing and therefore a perfect public face for the man-child that nominated him.

Why they oppose Hagel yet fast-track the seditious John Kerry? It’s Brennan who really needs to be stopped.

Kaus should be applauded for actually opposing Amnesty, rather than taking the coward’s choice of Amnesty with border security- which we all know will never happen given our current leadership.

Immigration? Opposing or supporting Hagel should be done on it’s own merits. All this complex political calculus hasn’t served us well and won’t in the future. I might disagree with the neocons but can at least respect their adherence to principal – however misguided. To waver for expediency’s sake is pathetic and the voting public hates the appereance of pathos.

If Rubio pulls the plug on support because of border control it’s over because he is kind of the life of the reform. If Rush/conservative “columnists” dont like it, he’ll pull it and say he wanted to lead the charge but the president is torpedoing it.
