NYT grumpy that Republicans uncovered Menendez’s ethics problems
Sandwiched between two doctors’ offices at a roadside plaza here is the headquarters of a small team of veteran Republican investigators, operating almost as a private detective squad, who since late last year have had a determined goal: bringing down Senator Robert Menendez, Democrat of New Jersey…
To Mr. Menendez and his staff, the work going on at this suburban Washington office suite, paid for by donations from prominent Republicans nationwide, is proof that the still-building news media frenzy focusing on his actions to help a Florida eye doctor is at least in part a political smear…
But the way the investigation got started, at a minimum, illustrates the often-hidden role that partisan players have in helping push major news media outlets to dig into ethical allegations lodged against sitting members of Congress.
The inquiry began with an incendiary tip — unproven and vehemently disputed by Mr. Menendez — that Dr. Melgen had helped procure prostitutes, some of them underage, for Mr. Menendez, after flying the senator repeatedly on his private plane to the Dominican Republic, where Dr. Melgen has a home at a seaside resort. This information was put forward by an odd array of self-interested characters, including the right-leaning Web site The Daily Caller and someone — his identity remains a mystery — who claimed to be an American citizen who frequented the Dominican Republic.

This reminds me of the fatal flaw in Netflix’s “House of Cards”. A premise where intrepid young liberal journalists risk life and limb to expose Democrat scandal and corruption? As well crafted and enteretaining as it is, it’s just too tough to suspend disbelief.

The NYT’s and all of it’s leftist enablers cannot go out of business fast enough for me!

NYT upset that sitting Democratic U.S. senator, about to become head of Senate Foreign Relations committee, is geting a small fraction of the scrutiny that Sarah Palin received…after she and McCain lost in 2008.
Got it.

… by forcing him to pay for underaged prostitutes. The scoundrels.

Why, I cannot believe that this is legal here in the USofA!
.
Isn’t the legal method that two intrepid liberal reporters take direction and information in an underground garage from a spurned and disgruntled senior FBI bureaucrat, promising to keep his name out of the
conspiracyinvestigation until such time as he becomes dead, senile, or permits the revelation of his name in thenefarious plotinvestigation of the politicalenemyadversaryofficial?.
Why hasn’t the NYT editorial staff been criminally charged with publishing and disseminating sensitive Federal Government information of a military and classified nature, numerous times?

So they’re mad that somebody else does the work that they refuse to do?

A smear…?

You have to understand that the MSM has trouble reporting on corruption and dirty dealing, because they have no experience with it themselves. After all, have you ever read or heard about a single instance of a serious ethical lapse being committed by a prominent media executive or personality? Of course you haven’t.

Alternate headline: NYT grumpy that it has become irrelevant.

BUT the NYT can concentrate on such important stories as Rubio’s water bottle or Ted Cruz’s refusal be a quiet, respectful freshman Senator and learning to “broker deals” at the knee of such Senate giants as Graham. Cornyn and Mccain.
