I remember when I used to enjoy reading the comments on HotGas.

Weinstein told Maher that there are more comments by Hagel being unearthed, one of which features a remark by Hagel that the State Department is run by the Israeli government.

Which is all sorts of stupid as the State Dept has long been a lefty bastion that hates Israel (and America, for that matter) and has worked against pretty much all Western interests, including forcing Israel to the edge of the chasm.

Hagel is just, plain stupid … as Bill Maher is. Hagel should look into HBO giving him a show.

You are obviously fascinated by them. I do not think that Israel has any significant “influence” over the “US”. Israel has the support of many elected members of congress. Since Obama has been elected, all the influence seems to go the other way.

1. Leftist Jews don’t like the US and Israel, not the way they are.

When we pulled our troops and bases out of Saudi Arabia after 9/11 in concession to OBL’s declaration of war and the Saudi Royalty’s feelings – would that be an example of control or influence? A better question would be whether or not the difference even matters. If we run our Fed by Beiging, or our immigration policies and school curriculum by Mexico – then does it really matter if that power gets labeled influence or control? Do you really think anything is accomplished with such word games?
