“Based on every statement I’ve heard from every Republican in the last two years, the Israelis are controlling our government”
Maher was, firstly, stunned that the Republicans are working this hard to fight the nomination of a member of thir own party. The Daily Caller’s Jamie Weinstein explained that they are still trying to vet Hagel before the final vote. Maher couldn’t understand what they find “suspicious about him,” asking “he’s a right-wing Republican and that’s not good enough?”
Weinstein told Maher that there are more comments by Hagel being unearthed, one of which features a remark by Hagel that the State Department is run by the Israeli government. Maher stated that this is a matter of fact.

Shouldn’t we get Charlie Sheen’s opinion first? I mean in order of relevance and sanity seems like the best way to go about it.

What a maroon!

And that would make Maher right for what, only the second time in his life? And he’s proud of that? Guess what – China and mexico also dictate US policy. Yeah it sucks, but that’s what happens when you embrace political parties and entagling alliances in defiance of our first and greatest president.
abobo on February 16, 2013 at 12:45 PM
Check the comments. The audience over there apparently consists entirely of crazed Lefty anti-Semites and conspiracy theorists.

If Israel is running the State Department wouldn’t that make Hillary a traitor? Is Maher calling Hillary a traitor?

Has someone got this guy in the troll list?

I would love Bibi to be president. At least he really did attend classes at MIT, and instead of chooming like a juvenile delinquent, fought in the IDF like a man.

Secret Joo list of what to do now that they control the US Govt:
1) Make Netanyahu wait while Obama eats a hot dog and watches Sports Center.
2) Go ahead and do jack squat about Iran developing nukes.

So am I being controlled by the Jewish conspiracy as well because I support Israel? Will a tinfoil hat keep out their mind control rays?
sharrukin on February 16, 2013 at 12:54 PM
Troll? I’ve been here longer than Ed, or pretty much anyone other than AP. Despite the hyperbole, Maher is correct in his assertion that Israel, and I would add other nations to that list, has WAY too much influence over American politics. And he’s right. Just like he was right about the 9/11 muzzies – they are evil as s#!t, but not cowards.
Question: If the Rombots, and the Palinistas, and Paultards are all trolls – then who does that leave left out here? The gay and urban metrosexual moderates? Is that the “new normal” in the GOP?
abobo on February 16, 2013 at 12:55 PM
If Israelis were running our government, I seriously doubt that we would have a muslim occupier (who happens to be a sworn enemy of Israel) in the White House.
Pork-Chop on February 16, 2013 at 12:59 PM
Yeah, because Israel is for the obvious destruction of America.
See Obama/Hagel/Kerry, the perfect triumvirate to do the US in.

No, you’re just a dumba## who does what every one else on the right does.
lostmotherland on February 16, 2013 at 1:06 PM
Israel doesn’t control the US.
Many Jews control/vote for Obama and the congress, both leftist sides, against Israel and are for commie-socialism, something a sane mind will never comprehend.
Idiots, put my nom on the “troll list” if you don’t get what I just said.
Schadenfreude on February 16, 2013 at 1:08 PM
Excellent. This report confirms my effort to control Mahr is working. Ephram, you can turn off the machine now.

BobMbx on February 16, 2013 at 1:12 PM
Well if it’s a choice between the Israeli’s or the White House Muslim, I will side with the Israeli’s.
Personally I think the Arabic Call to Prayer is just howling.

Oh. So you’re a Paultard then?
gh on February 16, 2013 at 1:16 PM
14 of the 55 Democrat Senators (25%) are Jewish. If opposition to Hagel were a Jewish conspiracy, wouldn’t his nomination be dead in the water?
Incidentally, 0% of the Republican Senators are Jewish. You’d think that these Jewish Democratic Senators would get sick of this scapegoating (and making them the “other”), but I guess you’d be wrong.

You guys need to read the Mediaite comments on this article.
You’d think the j00s had us all in concentration camps.

Influencing is a ‘duh’. But controlling? Please. Otherwise Obama would have been made to (not that’d it would take much force) invaded Iran.
Go parachute into Pakistan, trolltard.
MelonCollie on February 16, 2013 at 1:22 PM
Also note to JFKY and other “durr hurr yew should go be on Stormfront” trolls:
Since you seem to have no bloody idea what you’re talking about, Maher here is an example of an actual anti-Semite conspiracy-theorist. And a very good example he is!
MelonCollie on February 16, 2013 at 1:24 PM
Sockpuppet?
Or are you just illiterate?
viz:
Maher said “controlling”, doh.
gh on February 16, 2013 at 1:27 PM
I never said he didn’t. When we pulled our troops and bases out of Saudi Arabia after 9/11 in concession to OBL’s declaration of war and the Saudi Royalty’s feelings – would that be an example of control or influence? A better question would be whether or not the difference even matters. If we run our Fed by Beiging, or our immigration policies and school curriculum by Mexico – then does it really matter if that power gets labeled influence or control? Do you really think anything is accomplished with such word games?
abobo on February 16, 2013 at 1:37 PM
No, for a variety of reasons.
1. Leftist Jews don’t like the US and Israel, not the way they are.
2. Leftists are commie-sozis.
3. Leftists are always hypocrites.
4. Sticking with anti-everything-Obama, eating his sh*t, is their primary function.
5. If the right hate it they must love it and the land be damned.
6. Etc.
Schadenfreude on February 16, 2013 at 1:39 PM
I was replying to your supporter, MelonCollie.
It would be “influence” of OBL rather than the Saudis. It might be interpreted as in the best interest of the US, given that OBL had demonstrated the ability to do some damage.
You are obviously fascinated by them. I do not think that Israel has any significant “influence” over the “US”. Israel has the support of many elected members of congress. Since Obama has been elected, all the influence seems to go the other way.
Are you a Paultard? I am a Palinista for all intents and purposes. I think MC was upset at my question. I suppose Ronulan is slightly more polite but you used Paultard.
gh on February 16, 2013 at 1:45 PM
Sure Israel tries to influence, but they can’t do much now that Islam calls the shots in America.
BL@KBIRD on February 16, 2013 at 2:03 PM
Which is all sorts of stupid as the State Dept has long been a lefty bastion that hates Israel (and America, for that matter) and has worked against pretty much all Western interests, including forcing Israel to the edge of the chasm.
Hagel is just, plain stupid … as Bill Maher is. Hagel should look into HBO giving him a show.

The Jews? The Jews… like Bill Maher? Those Jews?
Once again, “Israel”=/= “The Jews”. I’m not even sure there is a definable quantity “The Jews”…
JohnGalt23 on February 16, 2013 at 3:51 PM
I’m darn near ready to disqualify anyone who says they are but vote for Obama and/or Democrats, simply because their actions result in such hardship for Israeli Jews.
