fogw on February 13, 2013 at 5:29 PM

Thank you. That says it all.

Conservatives don't go in for saviors. That's the talk of demagogues and totalitarians. We like leaders, but then progressives don't understand the difference.

I don't derive my political identity from Reagan. To say such a thing shows how little he understands conservative thinking. I like and respect Reagan because of his ideology and his courage in holding to his principles. His personality and ability to communicate made him easy to like and admire. But savior? Please. He's not the core of my identity.

Progressives are the ones who don't know who they are without some statist authority to tell them where they belong. That's why they keep falling for fake messiahs.

Much of the GOP has no principles and bends to the wind of focus groups.

I'll tell you what we don't need.
All those big head TV pundits picking fights with people who agree with them 70% of the time.

We also do not need a friggin' thing from the leftie media.
They are enemies of state as far as I am concerned and should always be treated with skepticism and low grade hostility.

Dammit..can we please have closed primaries and debates sponsored by credible conservatives as well...?

Oh and finally.
Can somebody tell Joe Scarborough to stfu?

The obvious strategy is to replace / primary the GOP deal-making old farts with Beltway outsiders. The reason Palin was and is resented was and is because she is an outsider. Someone who has had a real job outside politics. Palin isn't one of the good-ole-boys or an Ivy League snob. Dagnabbit!

The infection of perennial sellouts like Lugar, Snowe, Collins, Hatch, Graham, McCain, Specter, Bennett etc. so diluted the GOP brand name as to make the public choose Democrat regular over Democrat lite. Bennett and Lugar were evicted by primary. Snowe bailed out. Specter pulled a Jeffords. Meanwhile McCain and Collins still sell us out for cheap face time. Boehner and McConnell waited until after the election to make a fuss and wasted the momentum of 2010 thus diluting any message they wished to convey. The solution is replacing the cavers with those whom will deliver. Heap big challenge.

They already have one – the Constitution. Stick with it!

OldEnglish on February 13, 2013 at 5:18 PM

Yes, and that’s why the Proppressives want to destroy it.

But we do have another savior or sorts – Obama.

Does anyone think that this can go on in perpetuity?

At some point enough people are going to see through the LIES despite the BSM smoke screen.

Personality cult figures like the Dear Liar can’t stay in power without massive oppression of freedom – does anyone think that people will put up with this forever?

Thinking Democrats are going to realize that he will be the death of their party and abandon him.
