D.C. ranked first in extra-marital affairs — for the second consecutive time
For the second time in two years, Washington, D.C., has been ranked the number one city for cheaters.
According to AshleyMadison.com, a web site that bills itself as “the world’s leading married dating service for discreet encounters,” the nation’s capital was at the top of the list of America’s Least Faithful Cities with 34,157 sign-ups – more sign-ups per capita in 2012.
“With enormous public attention paid to political cheating scandals this year, including the Gen. Petraeus affair, there was no doubt that Washington residents would be influenced. Living in DC it’s crucial to keep up appearances and therefore adultery has become a way of life for many of the city’s most powerful residents,” said AshleyMadison.com Founder and CEO Noel Biderman.

City with largest number of whores has largest number of affairs. Shocking.

Cheating and DC are synonymous. It’s probably true even of non-politicians. I drove through DC once at 1AM. The hookers there are so aggressive, when you stop at a red light, they run up to your car and bang on the window trying to turn a trick.

The city of waste is the city of waist.

Does this take into consideration multiple accounts held by a single D.C. user? BigLubbaBubba, CigarMan92, and NorthAmericanGetLaidAct are almost certainly the same guy…

Dunno. DC doesn’t seem hip to me!

Not just in the realm of extra-marital affairs.

This is a misleading study due to the nature of DC residents. We’re a practical and over-educated lot and somewhat lacking in passion and spontaneity. So, whereas your average Californian might just boink whatever neighbor they find themselves next to in the hot tub,and your average straying Alabamian will just crawl into the back of the truck with whatever honky-tonk hero or heroine they find themselves getting liquored up with Friday night, DC residents want system where a consultant can set things up and we can pencil in our a adultery for a specific time, in between a briefing on European Central Bank Greek strategies and a fundraiser for a rising young political star from Ohio.

Uh, this isn’t a “study”. It’s a website’s hard fact that DC has “more sign-ups per capita”.
Reading comprehension is a wonderful thing.

This is a an article that extrapolates an unsupported conclusion from one source. The only “hard fact” is that DC has a higher per capita membership in A-M than other jurisdictions. While it’s likely that there is some correlation, this in no way proves that DC has a higher rate of affairs than other jurisdictions. There being many ways of entering into affairs other than A-M. Reading comprehension is indeed a wonderful thing. Work on yours.
Further, my response was tongue-in-cheek reference to the nerdiness and self-importance of DC types, rather than a serious refutation. A sense of humor is a wonderful thing, too.

My reading comprehension is just fine. I simply asserted that the “hard fact” is that DC has more sign-ups per capita to this website, a fact which you agreed with. I didn’t try to import any meaning to that statistic.
Btw, you wouldn’t know humor if it smacked you in the face.
Bitter Clinger on February 13, 2013 at 7:41 AM
So, since we both agreed, and since I never disputed the A-M sign up rates — merely the conclusion that this proved that DC belonged “at the top of the list of America’s Least Faithful Cities” (and that, not seriously) — what drove you to be suck a pi**ant in your post?
Just bitter, I suppose.
Have a grim day!

No sense of humor?
I totally loved Rubio’s Broadcast News imitation last night. Odd timing on his part, but pretty funny.

Cheating.
In DC, it’s THE way of living.

Nothing new about people in DC taking what is not theirs.
