Piers Morgan: I don’t buy the Pope’s reasons for resigning
Buy it. What’s going on is the man is showing us how to live a life of discernment and trust in God.

Who is this Piers Morgan that they speak of?
Bitter Clinger on February 11, 2013 at 12:37 PM
Piers has found the secret to ratings. He’s going to say outrageous crap from now until his death just for attention.
ButterflyDragon on February 11, 2013 at 12:38 PM
PM is gonna have PMS when he figures out that the Pope doesn’t care about what a hack TV babbling head thinks.
oldernwiser on February 11, 2013 at 12:41 PM
Piers…struggling everyday for relevancy…to now avail.

Piers Morgan. The Jerry Springer of Britain. Except not as good.
Mitoch55 on February 11, 2013 at 12:42 PM
Piers? Yeah, that desperate guy from the UK who is constantly in search of another 10 people to double his viewership…
ProfShadow on February 11, 2013 at 12:43 PM
I’m sure the Pope doesn’t care whether you buy it or not. Neither do I. In fact, based on your track record, your not buying confirms and enhances his reasoning.
Old Country Boy on February 11, 2013 at 12:43 PM
“Piers” Morgan: so named because nobody would care if he took a long walk off a short one.
MelonCollie on February 11, 2013 at 12:46 PM
s/b “to no avail”…sheesh.
d1carter on February 11, 2013 at 12:46 PM
Morgan would have criticized him if he had stayed on beyond his capacity to watch over his flock. You know he would have. Luckily for the Pope, dealing with malcontents like Morgan is below his stature.
thebrokenrattle on February 11, 2013 at 12:46 PM
He’s 85 years old. The last Pope died at 84.
SoulGlo on February 11, 2013 at 12:47 PM
Considering the things PM DOES ‘buy’ as the truth, his not buying the Pope’s sincere expression of his motives merely PROVES he’s an absolutely deluded individual. Beyond prayer, methinks.
Sigh.
pambi on February 11, 2013 at 12:48 PM
Piers Morgan the would be Ellsworth Toohey.
Hobbes on February 11, 2013 at 12:48 PM
So Piers is Pro-Life? Whodda thunkit?
Knott Buyinit on February 11, 2013 at 12:49 PM
Piers Morgan = Troll King
portlandon on February 11, 2013 at 12:50 PM
I won’t buy the reason Piss Organ will submit for his upcoming resignation either.
Joe Mama on February 11, 2013 at 12:52 PM
Slandering through implicit unspoken innuendo? Is he a liberal by any chance?
neuquenguy on February 11, 2013 at 12:52 PM
Piers, how about you take a long walk off your short self?
Drained Brain on February 11, 2013 at 12:55 PM
Q: What the difference between Piers Morgan and a toothless Neanderthal?
A: The miracle of tooth implants.
Dusty on February 11, 2013 at 12:55 PM
The East River could not be reached for comment.
Gotta admit, though, the name fits. Piers (especially ferry slips) are well known for being quite Greasy.
Del Dolemonte on February 11, 2013 at 12:56 PM
Piers Morgan:
I’m an Idiot. See, it says so right here in my CNN Contract.
ToddPA on February 11, 2013 at 12:56 PM
So? I don’t buy CNN’s reason for keeping this hack on their payroll.
HotAirian on February 11, 2013 at 12:58 PM
This sums up my reaction.
If an 85 year old who had stated he could see himself resigning for health reasons resigns, it’s not a shocker or a conspiracy but keeping to his word.
It’s a conspiracy if something big happens in a few weeks time, but until such an event happens we should take the Pope to his word.
amazingmets on February 11, 2013 at 12:59 PM
Everyone is a liar except the guy who ran fake pictures of British soldiers abusing the enemy. Is this a great world or what?
Cindy Munford on February 11, 2013 at 1:00 PM
Q: What the difference between Piers Morgan and Jimmy Hoffa?
A: Nothing that a pair of concrete galoshes wouldn’t solve.
Dusty on February 11, 2013 at 1:00 PM
I bet his buddy Trump is mad Piers beat him to the press with this. Trump has a new series starting.
Marcus on February 11, 2013 at 1:01 PM
Q: What do you call Piers Morgan’s idiotic tweets?
A: Typical.

Hey Piers !!
Some folks just know when they can’t do the job anymore.
Clearly, this is hard for you to understand.

Piers Morgan = Pope Truther
Resist We Much on February 11, 2013 at 1:17 PM
He was so demeaning to Susan Boyle on Britain’s Got Talent or X-Factor UK. At that moment, I had a measure of the man.
vityas on February 11, 2013 at 1:23 PM
Piers, I really don’t care what you think or “buy”.
Ward Cleaver on February 11, 2013 at 1:23 PM
So glad we had Piers weigh in on things. He probably had the holy hotline tapped and has been listening to His Holiness’ daily communicate, in between his fight against evil guns and their owners…
Tilly on February 11, 2013 at 1:23 PM
Piers Morgan…the “Jesse Jackson” of talking Liberal talk show hosts.
Trying to stay relevant in a culture that’s passed them by…
ProfShadow on February 11, 2013 at 1:35 PM
The idea that the pope is resigning for health reasons is transparently false. First, no pope resigns for health reasons. It’s never been done. The pope is supposed to be god’s representative on earth and the job is for life – regardless of state of his vitality. For a pope to resign is akin to quitting on god. That is why the pope position is for life.
Most popes died in poor health. They did not resign for “health reasons”.
The only logical reason for him resigning is that someone blackmailed him or threatened to go to the media if he didn’t resign. In today’s climate, especially after what happened to Paterno, even a pope could not survive the firestorm. To protect his own reputation, and for the sake of the church, he resigned for “health reasons”.

Piers Morgan does know a thing or two about resigning in scandal…
steebo77 on February 11, 2013 at 2:05 PM
I’d kind of like to see a massive scandal come to light soon, just to make this moron’s vapid “rebuttal” look totally stupid.

PM trolls again, and the usual suspects totally buy-in.
Moesart on February 11, 2013 at 2:19 PM
I don’t know. I think I’m having a bad day. I think I’m agreeing with Piers Morgan here. And I’m a lifelong, practicing Catholic and a fan of this particular Pope.
But, c’mon. Popes do not resign because of failing health. I mean, they just don’t. In the 2,000 year history of the Catholic Church and the 265 Popes, how many have resigned due to failing health? Not a single one. Benedict’s immediate predecessor, John Paul II, spent the last few years of his papacy in horrible physical health.
I think there must be more to this story than we are being told. My guess? Either the Pope is suffering from a mental health condition such as Alzheimer’s and feels that it would do great harm for him to remain as Pope, or there is some scandal or other troublesome scenario that he feels is forcing him out.
Shump on February 11, 2013 at 2:36 PM
Piers, what’s so hard to buy about an elderly man who’s now too pooped to pope?
May Benedict enjoy his retirement…& never ever hear that there’s a person named Piers Morgan.
