Steve King: Donate to me to stop Karl Rove
Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) says Karl Rove and American Crossroads are out to get him and his supporters should pony up to stop them.
Keying off a quote from Crossroads President Steven Law in Sunday’s New York Times, the likely Iowa Senate candidate sent an email to supporters Thursday seeking cash for a potential campaign.
“I have not made a decision on this matter, but already Karl Rove and his army have launched a crusade against me,” King writes. …
“They said I couldn’t win in 2012 — the entire political machine was against me — but I soundly defeated my opponent by 8 percentage points,” he writes. “So let me be clear. Nobody can bully me out of running for the U.S. Senate, not even Karl Rove and his hefty war chest.”

All you gotta do is hint that you may be running for Congress.

I just sent you a trillion dollar coin.
Ok…it’s really just an iron slug from my fab shop, but if I say it’s worth a trillion bucks then it is.

All my financial support will be going directly to candidate’s campaigns. NONE will be going to the GOP. Zero. Zilch. Nada.
And let me make it clear to most of the bozos at national and most state GOP headquarters. Most of my contributions happen during primaries, but my direct contributions promise will remain during general elections, too. That’s it. I’m done. Never again.
Furthermore, all comers lined up against Rove’s propaganda war will be going to the top of my priority list for contribution consideration.

I read even perennial loser Iowan ultra-social conservative “Republican Kingmaker” Bob Vander Plaats is maybe going to enter the Senate race, so there just may be someone to scream “RINO!” and “Establishment!” at Rep. Steve King!

The media selectively presents information to divide republicans to it’s best advantage. Karl Rove is not a story today, but King has taken the bait, whatever bait that is. Fool.
Ignore these stories that intend to cannibalize fellow republicans and conservatives. I actually can’t even trust a Tea Party generated story…if the tea partiers generating it are people who say things like, “both parties are guilty, don’t vote for them…they really want you to make the liberal choice or waste your vote on libertarians.”
How do we know these people are not conservative Tea Partiers? Because they don’t show up to support the local conservative candidates, won’t volunteer their time, or give money to fight the liberal candidates on the ballot, and won’t vote for the most conservative candidate possible…sit out the election. Many of them think the “freedom” in the constitution is all about Pot.
Don’t let those people hi jack what is left of the republican party. They are playing mind games with you to get you to abandon republicans that vote the way you want to because they are not “perfect.” They are at loose ends since Ron Paul has set on retirement. They are the loudest voices yelling “Establishment Conservatives!” Just be aware.

Then your protest should be directed toward Karl Rove.
Saltysam on February 8, 2013 at 9:08 AM
Steve King is probably in a position better than anyone else to know whether Karl Rove is actually targeting him or not. You can call him a liar if you want, but I doubt he is “misinformed.”
Nobody is demanding “perfection,” but we would like someone who sides with us most of the time on the big issues rather than siding with us on the color of the drapes in the House building and then voting with Obama for more taxes/amnesty/gun control.

@Fleuries
this is why the tea party needs to be a real party with a real platform and a real leader. Until then, every yahoo can say they are part of the tea party, and the republigoons will get away with whatever they want.
And for the record, I think it would be highly beneficial if the pot head libertarians joined the tea party. At least the libertarians realize that the democrats are not the answer. These are people that have a high distrust of government and rightly so. Those are the people we WANT.
Also, there is nothing left to hijack of the republican party because it ceased to be conservative ages ago. The fact that you think there is something to salvage is frightening.
This was my last election voting republican. I was duped just like every other conservative. Never again. Not even for the golden calf Rubio

Not “Support me to stop Karl Rove.” Or “Volunteer to stop Karl Rove.”
Nope, it’s all about the Benjamins. Way to prove Rove right, Stevie.

Life’s been good to me, so far. I’ll probably send some coinage in this direction…

I suppose what gripes me about this is how these guys go about things. I am no fan of Rove, but the whole process has become such a spectacle to me I have a hard time not laughing at it all.
