Dan Rather on Reddit: No one proved that Bush documents were forged
Rather responded brusquely:
Number 1 – the facts of case are not in dispute.
Number 2 – no one had ever established that the documents were forged (those who attack them argued that we didn’t do enough to demonstrate that they were not forged) The whole documents argument was a camouflage – what was described in the documents was factual. As for the trap argument — could have been, might have been but nobody has ever proven that. What I know, all I know, is we reported a true story. Whatever you think of the documents, facts are facts.

It always stuck in my mind, Jonah Goldberg posting on the Corner early on that Thursday before Charles Johnson’s flashing GIF came out, that it would be so much fun if the documents really were forgeries but honestly, that would be too good to be true.

Fat Chuck Johnson found the GIF flashing on line from another souce, he took the idea from others and took the credit.
The guilt drove him mad now he has 20 , 20 something liberal retards who post commie drone stuff 24/7 and he has banned thousands of posters for now being OK with the CO2 fraud and not being members of the Obama Cult.
I think some of them hang out a a blog called the blogmogracy others at one called correspondence committee and the real bad boys from his purge at , the diary of daedalus, where a group of tech types have all the facts on line.

Well, Dan is correct from one perspective. No one claimed that they were ‘forged’, because that claim would have inferred that they were a well-constructed facsimile of a early 1970′s document. The documents were clearly made up out of whole cloth, which was abundantly clear upon initial inspection.

Yea we’ve got all the proof in timestamped and archived glory that Johnson had a lot less to do with the development of the “throbbing memo” (or even moving on the idea that the docs were fake) than he’s told anyone. He stole it.
