“It’s not a burp. It’s barely a fart.”
Gov. Jerry Brown publicly scoffed at Gov. Rick Perry’s attempt to draw Californians to Texas for better business, saying that the ad campaign is “barely a fart.”
“It’s not a serious story, guys,” the Californian Democrat told reporters at a business event, the Sacramento Bee reported Tuesday. “It’s not a burp. It’s barely a fart.”
The classy jab comes a day after the Texan Republican governor released a 30-second radio ad in major Californian cities inviting them to “come check out Texas” for better business and is just one more punch thrown in the ongoing back-and-forth between the two very different governors about whose state presents a better business model.

Yeah well does Texas have a $4 billion train like the one that travels between the economic powerhouses of Modesto and Villejo? No? Then Cali wins, hands down.

Rick Perry should run an ad creatively using “Brown”, a bottle of Beano, and the sound FX of flatulence.
MelonCollie on February 6, 2013 at 2:25 PM
Wonder if Perry will respond to this? Probably not, he has more class than brown. Perry should ask brown to come down to TX and go hunting and see who has ‘barely a fart’?

Funny that Brown didn’t even try to dispel the notion that Texas is more business-friendly than Kalifornigrad.

Classy. Can’t imagine why Cali. businesses would want to leave a state filled with people who elected that troll. Keep talking about farts, gov., just pay no attention that that sucking sound. It’s just wealth leaving your state.

Is there any question which state has the better business model? C’mon.

Talk about passing useless gas…Brown knows how to do that way too well.

he sounds like a 10-year-old boy, so immature.

I heard this ad yesterday. It’s an awesome ad. Hopefully it works. California needs to implode and then maybe (maybe) the people out here will wise up. Doubtful though.

If it’s yellow, let it mellow. If it’s (Gov.) Brown, flush it down.
Attila (Pillage Idiot) on February 6, 2013 at 2:39 PM
Yeah, he’s right. the few more the commercial adds to the stampede already coming to Texas won’t be all that noticeable.
MESSAGE TO CALIFORNIA EXPATS COMING TO TEXAS! LEAVE YOUR PREVIOUS IDEAS OF GOVERNANCE AND TAXATION AT THE BORDER! (Kindly remember how well-armed we are down here.

Brown should run ads in Texas. People will be sh**ting themselves with laughter.

The only thing keeping a lot of tech business in California is nearness to major trade ports with Asia (SF and LA), the honchos are wealthy enough to keep the rot away from their own neighborhoods (for now), and the fact that a good portion of their honchos are alumni of California universities, and have their farm teams for recruitment at California universities.
Let any of that change, and you may be surprised how many folks take Rick Perry up on his offer.

It’s ok with me for Californians to relocate to my beloved Texas. But I would suggest we not let them vote until they have their Texas passport… should take them about 5 years to get one.

I agree, it seems Austin and Houston are hot beds for libs? We like TX RED not purple or blue!

The one some folks have been talking about between Dallas and Houston is about as far along as California’s. Go figure…’cause the Texas super train ain’t goin’ any farther.

Inevitable. Liberals are drawn to larger cities wherever they are.
… and it’s only a matter of time before Houston starts really sinking and it can be called Nuevo Nuevo Orleans.
