“I hope no one uses the term ‘illegal immigrant’ here today”
Opening the first immigration hearing of the new Congress, the top Democrat on the Judiciary Committee warned his colleagues not to use the term “illegal immigrant” as the debate goes on.
“I hope no one uses the term illegal immigrants here today. Our citizens are not — the people in this country are not illegal. They are are out of status. They are new Americans that are immigrants,” said Rep. John Conyers Jr., Michigan Democrat.
As Congress begins the immigration debate, both sides are preparing for an emotionally charged fight, and language will be one of the battlegrounds.

You can’t change change the recording of history, but you can’t change history.
Gosh, I was in a rush to post. How about:
You can change the recording of history, but you can’t change history.

They are “out of status”, according to Conyers. But he also called them “new Americans” and “immigrants”.
And we may have immigration laws, but it is not illegal to break them according to Conyers.
Conyers has talent. It’s been awhile since I have seen so much stupid packed into so few words.

He could step it up a notch and channel his inner Hank Johnson and argue that we have to grant citizenship to all of the illegal aliens because if we don’t and they are forced to return home, it would upset the balance of North America and cause it to capsize.

Ooh, ooh – I vote for ‘Tax-Sucking Trespassers!’

If you move into one of Conyers houses, eat the food he bought, use his electricity and water, and watch his tv…consider yourself simply simply a houseguest ‘without status’.

My, my, my…………..and this idiot, comes from a border state/city………let’s put the shoe on the OTHER FOOT, John. Imagine a herd of Caucasian Canadians barging across the Ambassador Bridge determined to invade blocks of abandoned homes and squat there. I’m sure there would be no outcry from you as they took jobs and resources away from the few residents left in Detroit. Yeah, right.

Rubio is way out in front of even Conyers by using “earnesty” instead of “amnesty”.
VorDaj on February 5, 2013 at 6:08 PM
Ok, we know Conyers is an idiot, so no surprise here. The real question is did anyone ignore his silly request, or did the repubs fall in line like good little soldiers?
xblade on February 5, 2013 at 6:09 PM
Call your reps, constantly. And email until your fingers bleed. After the last amnesty battle in 2006/2007, it took a couple of years to get feeling back in them. Only to have to go through this again.

So if this idiot votes to ban my assault weapon, it won’t be illegal, it’ll just be “out of status”?
banjohack on February 5, 2013 at 6:19 PM
I prefer to call them INVADERS worthy of being shot as they cross the boarder. Imprisoned if captured on our land, at a desert tent camp facility where they are required to produce to eat. Those failing to do so get executed, preferably in the lowest cost fashion, with their graves dug by their com-padres.

Does that go for the ones who come here after the current crop are amnestied?
Buddahpundit on February 5, 2013 at 6:49 PM
Suck this. Illegal Alien.
Bmore on February 5, 2013 at 6:52 PM
It’s not “illegal immigrant”.
It’s “illegal alien” as the gov’t docs provide.
Or, it’s law-breakers of the US.
Conyers is always an idiot.
