Boehner throws cold water on Obama’s sequester plan
Speaker John Boehner is signaling he will not accept revenue increases that President Barack Obama is expected to propose to delay the automatic spending cuts that take hold at the beginning of March. …
“We believe there is a better way to reduce the deficit, but Americans do not support sacrificing real spending cuts for more tax hikes,” he added. “The president’s sequester should be replaced with spending cuts and reforms that will start us on the path to balancing the budget in 10 years.”

Take it with a grain of salt. Boehner talks a good game all the way until the day he folds like a paper bag.

Will someone, anyone in the media ask Obama why he wants more revenue, after he GOT more just recently? Or details of said revenue?

Was it here that you heard it?

Oh well, I guess I’ll just forget about this since all is lost. They might as well just take my whole paycheck at the rate their going. Pretty soon I won’t be able to afford to drive to my job anyway…time to get in the cart.

It didn’t even take 30 days for him to spend every dime of that tax increase on a pork laden Hurrican Sandy relief bill. Every. Single. Dime.

My god this president is a fluking joke. His chest thumping on balanced cuts and tax increases sounded like they just programmed him for repeat.
This man is truly pathetic.

I swear I’m going to start swinging if I hear the term “revenue increases” again.
forest on February 5, 2013 at 3:44 PM
That bill should have had a provision that bho can NOT get on AF1 more that one time per month when he is on his constant campaigning at taxpayers expense? If bho does, the dnc or his campaign pays, NOT US!

I don’t know where the split lies, but I think well more than half the country has had it with Obama on this point. What the idiot GOP should have insisted on was a study tracking the revenue effect of the increased rates. It’s time to put the tax argument to rest. Liberals love citing the Clinton-era 39.6% tax rate as the engine of prosperity, ignoring that it was the reduction of the capital-gains rate from 28% to 20% that triggered the gusher of tax revenue. The 39.6% bracket triggered a nominal–if that–increase in revenue. And, of course, liberals ignore that the Bush tax rates actually increased tax revenues. Instead, liberals look back at the income generated in a low-tax-rate environment and whine about all the lost tax revenue that could have been collected with higher rates, failing to realize that higher tax rates would have depressed income. Complete morons.
