Boehner reasserting control over GOP caucus after rocky January
Republicans say Boehner’s biggest breakthrough came at a two-day House GOP retreat in Virginia. With his restless caucus shut away from distractions, he lined up speakers from inside and outside Congress to help explain what he saw as fiscal and political realities.
In a speech a few days later, Boehner summarized the case he made to his colleagues. In the upcoming debates over taxes and deficit spending, he said, Republicans must decide “where’s the ground that we fight on? Where’s the ground that we retreat on? Where are the smart fights?”…
A daylong session began with Boehner explaining what he saw as the financial and political “facts about the debt ceiling,” a participant said. Next up were his top lieutenants, to amplify his remarks and discuss possible options: House Majority Leader Eric Cantor of Virginia, House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp of Michigan and House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan of Wisconsin, the party’s vice presidential nominee last year.
They left no doubt of the party hierarchy’s allegiance to Boehner.

Good, the lack of control over the caucus was embarassing. Keep them united.

The only ground they fight for is amnesty for illegal aliens, raising taxes and the debt ceiling to enable increased spending so they can make payouts to cronies and special interests that don’t have Americas best interests at heart.
Everything else, everything important.
Where are the smart leaders promoting reform?

I’m hopeful for more brilliant legislation like the SandyPorkBill, the Boehner/McConnell Tax Hikes for the Evil Rich Act and the Let’s Make Cuts Nobody Likes so that No Cuts Will be Made at all Budget Control Act. The last is my personal favorite as is puts more money on the National Credit card, exhibited the very finest in hold your ground negotiation style, was voted yea by the GOP’rs who then go out and tell us all how very horribly ugly it is.
I am also looking forward to more backroommiddleofthenightgottapassitrightthisminuteorelsebillsthatnooneverreads bills with really fancy names that mean the exact opposite of what they do, (e.g. Affordable HealthCare Act).
Let’s all sing along together…”second verse, same as the first a little bit louder and a little bit worse.

Bending over and grabbing your ankles for an inexperienced, incompetent clown. Now THAT’S embarrassing!

This generations’s Iwo Jima flag raising would have Boehner and his minions raising a white flag or the Mexican flag. In fact, if I knew how to photoshop, that would be a good one.

The only people the repubs can unite against are conservatives. Fold, cave, and surrender to every other group or cause.
