Its he shooting a clay pigeon held up by an intern or member of the NBCBSABC press corp?
I say this because he is “shooting Skeet” at a 0 degree inclination plane…
Looks like a Winchester model 101 with ported barrels…I could be wrong…
front hand is too far forward and the butt is too high on his shoulder…looks like a brand new shooter.
One picture doesn’t doesn’t count for shite… this is reality management at its very best.
(Note that the picture was snapped at the exact moment of firing, framed totally on him… not a wide-angle of him tracking a skeet and firing. Also note that the barrel is barely raised… any clay that low to the ground is either at the very start of its flight, or at the very end of its arc. No experienced shooter would fire at either point of the flight…)
(This is a pure PR shot, and just as detached from reality as the shooter…)
Been trying to figure this one out. A) Do they port the top barrel of an over/under in only one place? If so, do they also port the bottom barrel? If so, where? The purpose would be to prevent muzzle climb, that would seem to pose a problem on the bottom barrel. B)What is the white object exiting the muzzle? Can’t be the wad, because smoke plume is in front of it, meaning the wad and shot are long gone.
The trees in the background are nice and green, and he’s dressed for summer, so it wasn’t shot today.
Missy on February 2, 2013 at 11:14 AM
He could have probably pulled that off in Vegas this week? Or somewhere else that he might have gone – like where I live – leaves on a lot of the trees and a short sleeve shirt is no problem.

They knew what they were working on “under the radar”.
It’s called constructing a narrative. It was predictable that someone would point to Obama not being a shooter..so *poof* have picture of him shooting a gun, to be published at an appropriate time in the bullshit cycle.
I’m surprised Chris Matthews was able to hold steady enough to keep the apple balanced on his head, given the proximity and complete of attention of his crush.
Gosh.. I still think that he should take Blackburn up on her offer. Obama is such a thin-skinned baby that he cannot have good humor about these things. Umm… How about a Republicans vs. Democrats skeet shooting contest for a military charity.. Fisher’s House, the Wounded Warrior project?
Whoa, take a closer look. IS that smoke photo shopped?
IF he just pulled the trigger (which if looks like he hasn’t yet)his cheek wouldn’t be comfortably pressed against the butt and his shoulder would be jammed back.
Gosh.. I still think that he should take Blackburn up on her offer. Obama is such a thin-skinned baby that he cannot have good humor about these things. Umm… How about a Republicans vs. Democrats skeet shooting contest for a military charity.. Fisher’s House, the Wounded Warrior project?
Illinidiva on February 2, 2013 at 11:37 AM
Great idea, but Wounded Warrior refuses to associate itself with shooting events. I don’t know about Fisher House, though.
Blowback

Joe Mama on February 2, 2013 at 10:59 AM
No, dumbass…Obama does not shoot skeet. Obama has apparently fired a shotgun at least once in his miserable, pointless life.
Jaibones on February 2, 2013 at 10:59 AM
Heh.
Jaibones on February 2, 2013 at 11:00 AM
Hmmmm, they caved. We need to work on this tactic.

I hear the White House comes fully equipped.
Cindy Munford on February 2, 2013 at 11:06 AM
Well, his hair is gray, so it was recent.
I figure this was shot this morning. What bs.
marybel on February 2, 2013 at 11:06 AM
He shoots like a dainty aristocrat who actually fears the weapon. He thinks his point is proved so I bet it’s the last such shot we’ll see.
S.P. Link on February 2, 2013 at 11:07 AM
Immediately after the photo Barry had it turned into a Volt.
Limerick on February 2, 2013 at 11:08 AM
I’m not an expert at skeet shooting, but shouldn’t he be shooting UP in the air?
threeinone on February 2, 2013 at 11:10 AM
Exactly.
AUINSC on February 2, 2013 at 11:11 AM
A few more degrees and he’d be shooting a groundhog.
Photoshop away!
alflauren on February 2, 2013 at 11:13 AM
If he holds the butt to his shoulder like that..He’ll not shoot many more skeet. lol
rich801 on February 2, 2013 at 11:14 AM
He is aiming a little low it seems. Was it T-ball skeet…?
NeoKong on February 2, 2013 at 11:14 AM
The trees in the background are nice and green, and he’s dressed for summer, so it wasn’t shot today.
The date given is Aug 4, his birthday. News reports had him playing a round of golf that morning and then heading to Camp David.
So I am willing to believe this isn’t photoshopped. However, I wonder if he was really shooting skeet. Shouldn’t he be aiming a little higher?
Missy on February 2, 2013 at 11:14 AM
I heard some dude in Mom Jeans knocked over a 7/11 yesterday.
It all makes sense now.
CorporatePiggy on February 2, 2013 at 11:15 AM

BallisticBob on February 2, 2013 at 11:19 AM
My guess is: yesterday. So they could get this photo out.

I don’t shoot shotguns but is it wise to rest your cheek on the butt of a gun like that? Especially a shotgun?
poppieseeds on February 2, 2013 at 11:20 AM
I want to see the follow up photo where he’s saying, “Oww!” and rubbing his shoulder like a little girl.
Well, not my little girl. She’s an expert shooter.
trapeze on February 2, 2013 at 11:21 AM
A little low??
It looks like he waited for the target to land before he shot at it.

It’s almost like these clowns have never heard of the constitution.
besser tot als rot on February 2, 2013 at 11:31 AM
The skeet would be out of effective range at that point of the arc of flight.
(There was obviously nobody about to prompt him raise the barrel another 30° so he could at least ‘fake it’ properly…)

“Doing skeet shooting”, is it cheating to wait until they hit the ground?
Look how high on his shoulder he’s holding it. Bet that’s a kick he didn’t soon forget. But the barrel is ported, so that helps.
Also, he seems to be leaning almost backward, instead of into the shot.
Hey, can I get me a hunting license here?
petefrt on February 2, 2013 at 11:34 AM
Yeah, I can’t wait to see what Iowahawk and The Peoples Cube, among others, do with that.

Shooting skeet at ground level?
Skeet is launched into the air. Maybe he forgot to yell “pull” LOL!!!

What’s his point? “I have guns and shoot them. But you shouldn’t.” ???
I don’t think this picture works in the gun-grabbers favor.
DarkCurrent on February 2, 2013 at 11:38 AM
Maybe he’s a little slow?
DarkCurrent on February 2, 2013 at 11:40 AM
It’s clearly a Photoshop. If you notice just above his left ear the tattoo is a “999″ and not a “666″.
