So the Chinese communists hack into the WaPo and replace their stories with a lot of communist propaganda. Who could tell the difference?

I don’t think anybody can – the WaPo is complaining because they might not get all the credit they feel they are due for helping to destroy liberty.

It’s wouldn’t be good for the Commie cocktail circuit.

No way. The ChiComs get nearly as much help from the Pravda on the Potomac as they get from the Pravda on the Hudson. Then there’s Communism’s loyal friends at Newsday, the Nation, TNR, PBS and NPR.

(Apologies to Pravda. I realize they’re a more honest paper nowadays than the WaPo or the NYT.)
