UK “disappointed” as Argentina turns down talks on Falklands
Argentina’s foreign secretary, Hector Timerman, had objected to representatives of the Falkland Islands government being part of the talks, but a spokesperson for the UK Foreign Office has said it would be “unthinkable” not to include the islanders.
Representatives of the Port Stanley government were flying to London this weekend to tell Timerman that Buenos Aires should respect islanders’ rights and leave them in peace.
But Timerman, who had initially asked for a one-to-one meeting with the foreign secretary, sent a letter overnight saying he would not accept the offer of a meeting involving the islands’ government, which Argentina does not recognise as legitimate.

As a very infamous Indian lady once said, “tough titties!”

A large number of Argentinians are of English descent actually. Only about 50% are of Spanish descent. Argentina is whiter than the US and maybe even the UK given their being overrun by immigrants.

The distance from Argentina to the Falklands is about 300 miles. From the United States to Bermuda, 600 miles. I say we annex Bermuda. AND their shorts, of course.
Of course Argentina doesn’t want to meet with Falklanders. They’re all British citizens, and want to stay that way. They need to play a game they can win. Obama is on their side. Probably the Castro brothers, and Hugo Chavez, and Imadinnerjacket too. Nice company.

They’re going to be ‘dismayed’ and ‘disappointed’ when the Argentinians simply waltz onto the beach and raise their flag.

Falklands? You mean the Maldives.

The UK has it, Argentina wants it, the UK won’t give it back. So what is there to talk about?

With the way that The Falkland Islands with the oil finds and Argentina with Kirchner (or anyone) are headed, in 10 to 20 years the islands will be able to buy Argentina and rename it The Falkland Mainland.

The Falklanders should demand the right to be heavily armed.

I guess that NATO pact with Britain is in the same “erstwhile” category as Egypt being our ally.
From the Daily Caller last year:

Especially not if said anglos have taken a stick and run them off the anglo land they were squatting on and freed the anglo citizens from the pestilence.
We used to have a name for this condition…as well as appropriate treatments for it. But when it takes losing thousands of people and a pair of landmark buildings to even get the USA to do a half-baked, historically-ignorant invasion of two countries, good luck.

Not really…
The Argies are in need of some attitude adjustments but they’re not head-chopping barbarians. Also there is no religious claim to any land in dispute from either side, which would stoke the fires a LOT.
