Cuomo’s approval rating in NY drops 15 points after new gun-control measures
The Quinnipiac University survey indicated that 59% of New York voters approve of the job Cuomo is doing as governor, down from a 74% approval rating in a poll released last month.
Republican approval has dropped sharply, from 68% in mid-December to 44% in Wednesday’s poll. But even support among Democrats was down somewhat, from 82% in December to 74% in the latest survey…
“With approval ratings that consistently topped 70%, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo had the political capital to spend when he set out to pass the toughest gun control laws in the nation,” said Maurice Carroll, the director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. “It is possible that the gun law cost him some of that political capital, but a 2-1 job approval rating still makes him the envy of most governors.”

It’s okay. He will get it right back up by allowing gay guns to get married.

I don’t think it’s so much the policy as that he looks like an overreaching buffoon.

Maybe Cuomo can talk about giving licenses to illegals, now? That did wonders for Client Number 9′s approval ratings. he, also, was cruising in the mid 70s approval … until Shrillary agreed with his amnesty stupidity in a dem primary debate. That was the end for both Shrillary and Client Number 9.
Cuomo is stupid enough to follow in Spitzer’s footsteps.
And the idiot GOPer who shepherded that POS legislation through the New York legislature ought to be run out of town on a rail. What a total douchebag and idiot. But … they are what New Yorkers wanted so New Yorkers deserve to get it all good and hard. I’m so glad I moved out of Manhattan years ago. I would never go back to that place – not even for a visit.

Ha, live and learn, Cuomo.

Down 15 points? It might even be more than that since folks outside of NYC tend to like their guns and ammo.
Urban Infidel on January 30, 2013 at 3:42 PM
He not only looks like an overreaching buffoon, he sounds like one. I normally like NY accents, but his is so incredibly annoying. Good lord!
Urban Infidel on January 30, 2013 at 3:44 PM
Looks like Cuomo has just self-selected himself out of 2016.

Somewhere Hillary gives off an evil cackle.

Serves the grandstanding clown right…Too bad most folks in New York State have to put up with idiots like this, they’ll never be able to out vote the city. So deal with it city dwellers, you voted for them now live with it.

Democratic senators in red and purple states must be getting antsy.
Has Manchin decided to introduce legislation legalizing machine guns yet?

Right after his new ad where he’s shooting the assault weapons ban bill …

The numbers will go up when he realizes Velveeta and margarine are basically flavored plastic, and bans them. No liberals eat that stuff, right?

I think screaming into a microphone like a demagoguing, tyrannical fascist has something to do with it!
vinman on January 30, 2013 at 4:48 PM
Just think, he is headed towards Presidential numbers now. President Cuomo. Doesn’t that sound wonderful?
Bmore on January 30, 2013 at 4:52 PM
And it hopefully will keep dropping right after the Revolution in New York. Upstate, of course, where real men and women live in a real world.
Where they know how to hunt and fish and take care of business.
