“One look, and your life was absolutely changed”
As Officers Chapman and Smith approached the second classroom in the hallway on their left, they spotted a rifle on the floor. Inside, they found the gunman, Adam Lanza, dead by his own hand, along with the bodies of several children and other adults.
The officers searched the room for any other gunmen, then began searching for signs of life among the children. One little girl had a pulse and was breathing. Officer Chapman cradled her in his arms and ran with her outside, to an ambulance. Officer Chapman, a parent himself, tried to comfort her. “You’re safe now; your parents love you,” he recalled saying. She did not survive.
Most of the bodies were found in the classroom next door, where, Detective Frank recalled, “the teacher had them huddled up like a mother hen — simple as that, in a corner.”

Blowback

I can’t imagine how these folks did their job at that scene.

Ugh, how do you possibly get over seeing that.

I feel for these guys…
But anything the NYT has to say abut this subject doesn’t warrant serious consideration.

You don’t. And perhaps one shouldn’t.
A lesser being, like myself, probably wouldn’t cope too well.

I know I’d ask God why he allows gun-free zones.

So, was the rifle in the car or did Lanza take it into the school? Does anyone know?

The answer, of course, is to make us all sheep.

So woman have a protection instinct, but men do not?
Does these people even think about what they right?
RavingLunatic on January 29, 2013 at 9:11 PM
Reports are now that he used the rifle.
Dusty on January 29, 2013 at 9:12 PM

Immaterial.
He used an AR-15 Assualt Rifle, any and all evidence be damned…per the MSM. That’s all that matters.

Jeez, go read the whole story. Its heart-breaking. I can’t even imagine the scenario. Its too horrifying.

The media has been just horrible on this story but from what I understand he took the Bushmaster into the school but left another rifle in the car. Something either Russian or an American version of a Russian weapon. I only saw it mention one time so it was probably wrong.
Cindy Munford on January 29, 2013 at 9:37 PM
God isn’t allowed in schools. The same people that banned Him banned guns. Adam Lanza didn’t get the memo.
Pablo on January 29, 2013 at 9:52 PM
A Russian made Saiga-12 shotgun was left in the trunk. The Bushmaster, a Sig-Sauer pistol and a Glock were found inside. He did the killing with the Bushmaster, except for himself.
Pablo on January 29, 2013 at 9:55 PM
Yes, he took it into and used it in the school. http://www.ct.gov/despp/cwp/view.asp?Q=517284&A=4226
