Hey, Obama’s not left-wing, he’s just “status quo”
None of the president’s economic initiatives, however, represent a departure for Mr. Obama himself, or for his party. If President Bill Clinton set out to build a “bridge to the 21st century,” said Simon Rosenberg, the president and founder of the New Democrat Network, Mr. Obama is walking across it.
John D. Podesta, an Obama adviser who served as chief of staff in the Clinton White House, called the president’s second-term economic agenda “consistent with where he’s been, consistent with where Clinton was.”
Indeed, since World War II both parties have accepted a substantial measure of federal activism “as American as apple pie,” said Kenneth Baer, a former Obama budget aide.
Mr. Obama’s problem is that postwar America could afford more pie than a post-baby-boomer America will be able to. And in the era of the Tea Party, Republicans have proved increasingly willing to challenge once-settled assumptions about Washington’s role.

Plus he really cares about people. He’s up nights tossing and turning thinking about average folks who can’t pay their bills.

I’ll say. Of course, given that the “status quo” was set by Franklin Roosevelt and LBJ, that’s hardly a contradiction.
But that’s right, only a wingnut would call FDR left wing or less than great, because he gave the people things and didn’t make them pay for them. He made us future-people pay instead. Liberals are inspired to follow his example. Now if only lenders would go along.

Yeah, like that status quo tax increase and the status quo immigration bill push, to coincide with his status quo trillion-dollar deficits, status quo takeover of the student loan industry, and status quo Obamacare behemoth, among other things.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Status quo is unsustainable.
It is not politics, it is just math.
Also I would be a Communist if it resulted in the best life for me and my children. As it is I see the best form of government is limited. Stay out of my life.

The Weekly Standard spotted what might be the first sighting of Progressive Photo evidence backing up President Skeeter’s claim.
It’s funny from both how quickly it was deleted and that it came from an Obama propaganda organ that has laughably returned just recently to a “fair and objective reporting” news and opinion model.

Anyone need any more proof of how liberal the media are?
They are constantly “reporting” about how conservatives want to “slash” spending and enforce “draconian” budget cuts and “impose austerity”. The Tea Party, oridnary people who just want government to pay its bills and stop running up more debt, are “extremists” who have “hijacked” the Republican Party and “threaten” to “hold the economy hostage.”
Meanwhile, the President who will double our national debt in just 8 years, signed a 2000-page health care reform bill and an 1800-page financial reform bill, imposed vast new national mortgage lending and servicing standards, shut down power plants, and made unconstitutional appointments to regulatory boards, is just “status quo.”

Great post. It drew out the first real photo of Obama skeet shooting for the public to gaze at in awe and renewed embarrassment at their skepticism. Conservatives have misunderestimated Obama’s honesty again.
You must feel honored the WH reads and comments at your blog.
