Norway data shows global warming is less severe than feared
After the planet’s average surface temperature rose through the 1990s, the increase has almost leveled off at the level of 2000, while ocean water temperature has also stabilized, the Research Council of Norway said in a statement on its website. After applying data from the past decade, the results showed temperatures may rise 1.9 degrees Celsius if Co2 levels double by 2050, below the 3 degrees predicted by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
“The Earth’s mean temperature rose sharply during the 1990s,” said Terje Berntsen, a professor at the University of Oslo who worked on the study. “This may have caused us to overestimate climate sensitivity.”

Is it even possible to fear something less than having no fear at all?

Another big accomplishment for president Obama.

Still blaming human activity, though.

Seems likely the earth warmed at least that much during the 1800′s based on the thawing of the massive glacier that is now called Glacier Bay, Alaska. We have obviously been having a fairly steady rate of global warming for at least 220 years.

It hasn’t almost leveled off
there’s been zero Global Warming for 16 years, that’s as level as it gets.

Don’t the Norwegians know the science is settled and the debate is over? Everyone agrees that more government and less liberty will save the planet.

It is a scam….
or as john Roberts would say in upholding the con game…
“it’s a tax.”

This is what is known as gracefully extricating yourself. After all the screaming, all the ruined reputations, all the screams of “how Stupid!” those who “disbelieved” were, this is their cover story.
What a terrible waste of manpower and time and effort.

Told ya so last week, sesqui, wherever you are.

We are starting to get accurate data on warming and sea level. Prior to the last 20 years or so the data was suspect at best and just plain wrong in many cases. The other problem is with using proxy data which isn’t really real data but rather data gathered from other sources and manipulated to represent temperature data.
Even with the more accurate data it’s still not possible to pin it on humans. Maybe in 50 or 60 years we can but trying to do it now just doesn’t cut it.
I blame Gore. It was his film and his scam from the start. He used his position as VP and his status as a former VP to prime the money pump and it was downhill from there. We as first worlders have to have something to be guilty about because most of us cannot accept that we are so much better off than the rest of the world.

No. You just, plain lied your azzes off, including about what the actual temps were and and what the historical temps were. Now, reality is slapping you in the face and you can’t continue on with your fraud as easily as before.
Most of the climate scientologists should be sitting in jail along with the turds in politics who funded them and carried out insane policies to drive this fraud.

As long as AGW can be leveraged to control people and raise money, it will never go away.

Pffft. All data shows global warming is less severe than feared.
It’s what they do with the data that shows global warming is severe.

+1 – That is all anyone really needs to know about the whole enchilada.

And don’t forget, when they “smooth” the data across large geographic regions, they use the metropolitan temperature data preferentially because it’s supposedly more accurate… oh, and hotter.
If the officers of a publicly-traded company did to it’s balance sheet what “climate scientists” have done to weather data, they would go to jail, not to the Nobel award ceremonies.
Globaloney is the biggest scam of all time.
