Tea Partiers never recruited Akin, he defeated the tea party candidate.

Mourdock was a seasoned candidate whose comments on abortion were demagogues to hell. He should have known better and cost us a seat, but he was no Akin.

Fine. Follow the money for where the Democrats will think the GOP will pull up a weak candidte. They probably think the Tea Party is dead (sez so on CNN, so it must be true, right?), so they’ll get the Tea Party movement tied to someone they think they can beat, then turn on the Tea Party when the primaries are over. (I seem to have heard somewhere that McCaskill funded Akin until the primaries were over. Was that true?)
