Artur Davis considering bid for Virginia Senate or Congress
Davis has met with a Virginia campaign consultant and several operatives to assess the viability of running for state Senate in 2015 or seeking the U.S. House seat held by Rep. Frank Wolf (R-Va.) if the congressman retires, according to two of those people, who asked not to be named in order to discuss a private matter. He has no intention of challenging Wolf, they said…
“If there’s a Senate seat that’s winnable, I’m sure he’d be interested,” said Tom Davis, who represented Northern Virginia. “He’d be an instant star.”
Davis, who lives in heavily Democratic Arlington, is said to be considering moving into a more competitive district. Reached via e-mail Saturday, he declined to comment.

Looking for a more competitive district Artur?
Take your pick over here in Maryland.

“Senator Artur Davis.” That has a nice ring to it.

I’m not as enthusiastic as others. He sounds like another career politician hungry for power. What’s wrong with Alabama? Moving to a “more competitive district” in Virginia to get elected? He just switched to the Republican party; how does anyone know how he’ll vote? Another Dem-lite in the Republican column? No thanks.

House of Representatives, fine. Senate, no.
He just switched parties. He’s yet to prove that he has any conservative instincts, and he remains a blank slate on a lot of issues. The higher the office, the more we should be making sure that the candidate has a proven, conservative record. Otherwise you get candidates like Mitt Romney.

He said state senate.

He is considering running for the VA STATE Senate…that is why he is considering moving. If it was for US Senate he would not have to move.

Missed that bit. Alrighty. That’s fine then.

Thanks for the clarification. I still wonder why he moved to Virginia and didn’t stay in Alabama.

I read this quickly as “Angela Davis” and thought to myself “Is that old radical still around?!”

Guy is pretty awesome, very articulate and has an ability to speak clearly about the fundamental issues. Relaxed and confident, not one of these angry uptight guys.
My daughter in Arlington would be freaking out to work on his campaign.

Clarification: State Senate…meh. He should be running against that incredible douchebag Moran for the House.
