NY gun owners flip the bird to “assault weapons” registration law
According to Frederic Dicker at the New York Post:
“Assault-rifle owners statewide are organizing a mass boycott of Gov. Cuomo’s new law mandating they register their weapons, daring officials to “come and take it away,” The Post has learned.”
The reason for such reticence isn’t hard to fathom. When gun owners charge that politicians can’t be trusted to resist using registration lists for future confiscation, they’re not being paranoid — New York City and California have both done just that.
Political officials might want to consider those experiences, as well as a recent poll finding two-thirds of Americans willing to defy tighter gun restrictions, before setting themselves up for public demonstrations of their impotence in the face of mass defiance.

There should also be a mass education effort on the subject of jury nullification and the fact that juries can decide to acquit even if the person is guilty of violating a law if they think it is an unjust law. That is WHY we have a jury system in the first place. If they can not get convictions, the law is useless.

They should just trade their $500 guns in for a $25 Best Buy gift certificate like everyone else has. Or maybe they can get those brand new made-in-Vietnam Nike shoes that all the kids want.

And so it begins. We need a new “Gadsden” style flag that reads “Come and Take It!”

Government exists at the consent of the governed.
We do not consent. I, and millions upon millions of others will not comply.

Those gun owners will now be the criminals the state wants to keep away from guns.
cozmo on January 26, 2013 at 8:28 PM
Hey New York. Here’s a little history lesson for ya. You might want to pay attention.

5 short years ago.
Did anyone here ever see a bumper sticker that said “Question Authority”?
Has anyone seen one in the last 4+ years?

Already exists

I have it on a cap. I love it.

When the AR-15 version first came out I thought it was a little over the top. Now, not at all.
cozmo on January 26, 2013 at 8:38 PM
Wow, I should say so!
VegasRick on January 26, 2013 at 8:40 PM
We are on the same wavelength. I just got my cap, and until recently I wouldn’t wear that sort of thing in public. I use it for my twitter avatar too, not that I ever tweet.
Now we are all Spartacus. This is the line we won’t let them cross.

Point me to the $500 AR’s because I would buy a pallet of them.

It wasn’t long ago that our government turned on it’s own citizens, by executive order no less….

I guess I will be an outlaw when they outlaw my guns or attempt to have me “register” them. That is until I sadly have a “boating accident” in one of the Great Lakes where they all fall overboard and sink to the bottom never to be seen again…until the shooting war breaks out.

I support them 100%!

It is time for wide spread civil disobedience. Dear U.S. Gun Owners: I urge you to REFUSE to register yourselves or your constitutionally legal property. Registration WILL mean confiscation at some point in the near future if you register yourselves! Gun owners observing their RIGHT to self-protection are NOT criminals that need to be registered.

Don’t comply, nullify!

This was the overreach that Americans in even very liberal states needed to see to react.
