Map: Which countries allow women in front-line combat roles?
The maps shows that the countries where women may serve in military combat roles are mostly European. It’s permitted in all Scandinavian countries, which famously have the narrowest gender gaps in the world. It’s also prevalent in the Anglosphere, where it’s allowed in Canada, Australia and New Zealand, with the United States and the United Kingdom the last hold-outs.
Otherwise, the only other countries that allow women in combat are Israel, Eritrea and North Korea: an odd mix of nations that use conscription to maintain large militaries. In all three, cultural solidarity with the military and history of armed conflict may play the biggest roles in that particular form of gender equality. But I’m not sure what may have led South Africa and Pakistan to break from their regional norms and permit women to fly combat aircraft.

I think it’s funny that we got a 404 not found error for this subject.

It works for me. The map links to the Washington Post web site.

No Hispanic country allows this. I think this could be a winner for the GOP in their courtship of

Women are weaker.
They get sick more often.
There will be “distractions” which will lead to pregnancies.
They will be raped…by our guys as well as by enemies.
They will get post-traumatic stress disorder (shell shock, battle fatigue syndrome) far more often than men.
Why are we sending women to the front lines of battle?
To appease leftist political groups that have bought our President & most of Congress.

They’re all backward religious ethno-patriarchy police states. My NYU Wymn’s Studies professor told me so and the rich guy I’m f***ing to pay tuition agrees.

I’m trying to figure out if it tracks with the likelihood of “invasion” or large-scale combat. It almost looks like countries in either extreme allow women in the front line. In other words, either they’ll never really see full-on, front line combat, or they’ll need every able-bodied person available if their worst fears are realized.

We in the United States have an odd fascination with what other countries do.
However, since no other nation in the history of the planet has ever had a military superior to ours, I would suggest that we should be the example other countries are following, and not much care what other countries do.

Now, take into account the number of people all these nations have actually sent into real combat in the past fifty years.

I volunteer to fight against, er, Sweden.

This is total BS… Almost all of these countries have “combat women” on paper only…
