“I thank God and country that when I fell into a bad situation, abortion was there to save me”
During MSNBC’s “The Cycle” on Friday, co-host Toure celebrated the 40th anniversary of the landmark Roe v. Wade decision to legalize abortion by telling the story of when he and an old girlfriend decided to have an abortion 15 years ago.
“In some ways that choice saved my life,” Toure said.
He said he was extremely thankful abortion was an option because wasn’t ready to be a dad and going through with the pregnancy would have just made “a mess of three lives” because she “wasn’t the one.”

Can we ban him from Washington DC?

Frankly, you’re still not ready, Tourettes. But that doesn’t make abortion anymore acceptable.

Here’s a funny word they could have tried – adoption
gophergirl on January 26, 2013 at 9:47 AM
Thank God I convinced my girlfriend to have an abortion, otherwise I’d have to be writing out support checks now.
Illinidiva on January 26, 2013 at 9:49 AM
In this case, I’m thankful for abortion, too. Toure’ is one of the last people I want to reproduce.

Thanking God for allowing him to play God: liberal insanity.

Notice it’s the guy being grateful he could have sex without ‘consequences.’ What a scumbag. No wonder he’s a leftist.

To be extremely cold-blooded about it, so am I. Not that this means I’m suddenly loving me some Roe, but God bless it we really do need some chlorine in the gene pool.

“I thank God he didn’t kill me for killing that beautiful child who deserves to live far more than I do.”
Toure, your day of reckoning is coming…if you don’t repent. (I hope you do)

What an evil man.
ThePrez on January 26, 2013 at 9:58 AM
Didn’t do much for the baby, though, did it.
This is why a mad man can go into a school and slaughter 20 children.
This is why a schoolgirl can go to her prom, walk into the bathroom and give birth in the toilet and try to flush her baby down the sewer before going back to the dance floor.
This is why a “parent” can lock their son or daughter in a closet for 6 years like a dog.
Millions of innocents slaughtered for convenience. But we don’t see it because it’s all done behind closed doors.
It’s ok for the left to stand on the graves of those murdered school children to push their political agendas… but don’t you dare talk about the horrors of what goes on behind those closed doors in the abortion chambers.

It’s one thing for a woman who has had an abortion say “the abortion saved my life.” That’s actually medically plausible.
But when a man (I’ll give Toure’ the benefit of the doubt here) says it, it comes across as truly pathetic.
JimLennon on January 26, 2013 at 10:02 AM
The insanity in that thought is scary. It’s people who think like this who go out and shoot up schools. Killing a child is an act of salvation in their twisted minds.
HotAirian on January 26, 2013 at 10:02 AM
Is there any worse optics than a man who is publicly thankful that abortion saved him from being responsible for a child he fathered?
And “she wasn’t the one”? The whole “there is only one person that you can love” fallacy aside, you still had sex with someone you weren’t willing to raise a family with?
Count to 10 on January 26, 2013 at 10:03 AM
Wow the bar is low as to when it is acceptable to take your own child’s life. What if he only realized these things after the child had been born….why not then?
Come on Toolre you know you want to argue for infanticide too. Just do it./

My daughter is 15. If this guys’s GF had had her baby and given it up, that child might have been my daughter’s best friend today. Two of her good friends are adopted. Another was born to a 15-year-old who kept her and later found the man of her dreams and married him.
I am so glad all those mothers chose life, because these kids are wonderful people.
My husband’s best friend was unable to have any children with his wife. They adopted two children of the same mother, who was a teenager. I’m glad that girl chose life too.
rockmom on January 26, 2013 at 10:04 AM
Yeah… the lies we make ourselves believe.
It’s just piece of tissue right up until you give birth. Then it magically becomes this beautiful little darling baby.
A doctor can give an abortion in one room to a woman 9 months pregnant… talk about her tissue that was removed… then walk into another room and assist a woman in giving birth to a beautiful healthy baby.
And we wonder why we are where we are.
Oh.. and just in case that doctor screwed up in his abortion and the baby was found later gasping and crying in the bucket… Obama will be standing there at the door making sure no one helps that baby live.
But he’s a nice guy. Romney said so.
But lets get off this extremism and go back to yelling at the gun nuts who are causing all this gun violence in our schools. That’s the real issue.

Woman who wants the same : pro-choice
thebrokenrattle on January 26, 2013 at 10:06 AM
Seconded. I’ve become convinced, though, that a little (or a lot) of cold-bloodedness is warranted in political discussion these days. If the Left is going to fight dirty, we had better be willing to fight dirty, too. All that really matters to them is winning, so let’s do and say whatever it takes to make them lose.
JimLennon on January 26, 2013 at 10:06 AM
Again.. Toure is grateful he himself doesn’t have to shell over child support for knocking up the woman.
Illinidiva on January 26, 2013 at 10:07 AM
Through my time doing photography work, I’ve met a few young moms. Girls who had babies at 18, 20, 21.
They could have had abortions, but they didn’t, and their children are incredible.
If only people had the vision and wisdom to make the right choices.
blatantblue on January 26, 2013 at 10:08 AM
Imagine the joy this liberal could have given another human being by going through adoption.
CW on January 26, 2013 at 10:08 AM
It’d be nice to see the right put their money where their mouth is in terms of supporting state orphanages, making them seem like places you’d actually be happy to see your baby or child grow up in. It’d be nice if they would support subsidies for adoptive parents such that it doesn’t cost those who want to adopt between 10 and 20 thousand dollars to go through the process.

How does a guy “fall” into a pregnancy situation? Biologically, how is this possible??? I mean, did his willie just one day escape his control and he didn’t notice? Or did his sperm fall out one day when he busily reading King Lear and somehow impregnate his girlfriend while the teacher was tutoring another student?
CJ on January 26, 2013 at 10:10 AM
Or ask his GF if she’d taken her pill.
MelonCollie on January 26, 2013 at 10:12 AM
Idiotic liberal logic and stunted view of reality.
He, or anyone else has no way of knowing how a child would have changed their lives. In their world of self glorification, they just assume that whatever choice they make its the right one, because…you know..they are so all knowing and wise.
Its really not even worth the time it takes to listen to these people anymore.
Mimzey on January 26, 2013 at 10:12 AM
That’s why abortion is the greatest thing to ever happen to men. Shell out a couple hundred bucks every now and then for the abortion, and have all the sex you want. Never even have to think about marrying to get some. And women seem quite willing to oblige, throwing away both of their great powers over men (the power to give a man an heir and the power to give or withhold sexual favor.)
I still can’t figure out how this empowers women.
rockmom on January 26, 2013 at 10:12 AM
The word “depraved” doesn’t even begin to describe these people. It implies a mere lack of moral fiber. But to do something like this, and then not only pat yourself on the back over it, but go out on the road and proselytize it to the world as a kind of religion. There’s only one word for that: evil.
Here’s something I’ve been wondering about. Liberals constantly scream about RAPE this, RAPE that, Republicans’ want more RAPE, and abortion is absolutely necessary because of all those RAPE babies that can only be prevented by abortion…
So out of the many millions of abortions since Roe v. Wade, why haven’t they been able to dredge up ONE example of a woman “saved” from the effects of rape by abortion?
logis on January 26, 2013 at 10:13 AM
What became of the mother, any word on whether she regrets her decision or was pressured to have the abortion? But hey as long as Hip Hop Toure could get his groove on without consequences, it’s all good.
Bishop on January 26, 2013 at 10:15 AM
Not to mention that Toure thanking God is more laughable than our resident pagan/apostate history-revisionist troll shilling for Catholicism. (I couldn’t make this up if I tried) Each are literally appealing to authorities they not only don’t believe, but whom they HATE and whose laws might as well be written on the back of a cereal box for all they care.
MelonCollie on January 26, 2013 at 10:15 AM
Just said good-bye to my 10 month old granddaughter and daughter who stopped by for an early morning visit. I thank God for my children and now my grandchild. They’ve made my life worth living. They are my gifts to the world after I am gone.
I pity Touareg, like most progressives, he is incapable of feeling shame. The end justifies the means.
Fallon on January 26, 2013 at 10:19 AM
you could have of course avoided the situation entirely by being responsible and using a condom or birth control- but because you’re a malignant narcissist that never crossed your mind. so the whole situation is still all about You. all it says is that you’d be a craptastic dad anyway.parenting requires a selflessness few liberals seem prepared to adopt.
attention heterosexuals: if you are not mature enough to raise a child and just ignore any precautions to prevent the biological reason for the act itself you are not mature enough to be having sex. i of course understand that among liberals that could mean people as old as 75 are still incapable of the maturity necessary for a physical relationship with the opposite sex.
within some corners of the feminist community as it existed about the time just after roe vs. wade was the realization that men on the left only were pro-abortion because it absolved them of any responsibility toward women and their potential offspring. lots of free no strings attached sex- and an escape hatch for “accidents.” this is why abortion and birth control seem to be the only ‘women’s issues’( besides say real comprehensive human rights for females) the left recognizes and goes on about. but that generation of feminists are gone from the spotlight- those who exposed the selfish cynicism of abortion being the only women’s issue of the democrats and we’re left with flukes and malignant narcissists of both genders.

What is this out of Romania or somewhere? We have a foster system, not state orphanages.
Also, the pro-life movement has been putting its money (and time) where its mouth is for quite awhile. (Umm crisis pregnancy centers??)

Well you’ll be happy to know that you get a refundable $12,970 credit per child toward the costs of adoption in 2013. IRS Form 8839. Adoption is essentially a free ticket to a lifetime of love and happiness.

I honestly thought Touré wasn’t the kind of guy that would have to worry about getting a girl pregnant. If you know what I mean.
joekenha on January 26, 2013 at 10:34 AM
You’d be amazed. This from my favorite right-wing blogger:
“I’m a poor catch, and even I’ll admit it. I’m not only stubborn and opinionated, hard to get along with, and as socially adept as a banana slug, but I’m also a no-account with a part time job in a retail store, a half-assed “career” as a web cartoonist and illustrator, and a glutton with a bloated carcass weighing in at 315 pounds.
But, ironically, the sleazeballs who are picking up all the chicks without even trying make even ME look like a paragon of manly chivalry by comparison.”
Meaning no personal insult to him, that’s frickin’ scary. But not very surprising, in a culture that has popularized screwing everything that walks upright and at least has an age ending in ‘teen’ and may not be satisfied with even that much.
MelonCollie on January 26, 2013 at 10:38 AM
I’m having hard to believe that Toure could get anyone pregnant. Particularly when he was 15 years less “famous” than he is now.

One day I saw a young girl (teens) buying a box of tampons and that is all she was buying at the grocery store. Then the next day I saw the same girl at the Pharmacy buying a pregnancy test kit. If she bought a box of condoms first but that is the males job to bring or something the second buy would not be needed.
9 out of 10 people that are born are unplanned. Soon it will be 5 out of 10 as the other 4 are aborted before they get to the born stat.
