Ted Cruz to oppose Boehner’s debt-limit fix
Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, will not vote for the House-passed debt-ceiling bill because it does not include spending cuts, his office said on Wednesday.
“For four years, the Senate Democrats have refused to pass a budget, and the House plan may well force them to finally do their job,” Cruz said in a statement Wednesday night. “However, suspending the debt ceiling without significant cuts or spending reforms just doesn’t make sense, and I intend to vote no.”

What an idiotic move. At a time when the House GOP finally has a shred of unity, Cruz decides to undercut their efforts and grandstand.

Unity? What unity? The house just gave the government an unlimited credit card for the next few months without ANYTHING in return. All we keep hearing from the GOP ‘leaders’ is “the next time we have to make a tough decision we’ll get spending cuts … no really, we promise.” This game of kick the can has got to stop, and I’m glad at least one of my state’s senators isn’t going to just rubber stamp a bad idea because the majority of the house is acting like the orphan Oliver, “please sir, may I have some more?”

Removing the debt ceiling, if even for a short period, is an awful idea and a terrible precedent. It should be vigorously opposed and stopped by any means. If Boehner and the GOP want unity, they should stop coming up with such G-damn stupid ideas.
