“As events unfold, Governor Romney will speak out more on the issues of the day”
“This is a social visit, not a political trip,” the aide says. “Governor Romney has deliberately avoided injecting himself into the political discussion while President Obama laid out his agenda and congressional leaders responded.”
But Romney isn’t retiring from public life. “As events unfold, Governor Romney will speak out more on the issues of the day, including the need to create jobs and restore economic prosperity, and how best America can maintain its leadership position in the world.”

Blowback

LOL, like his word has any value to America.

Is Romney angling for a job as a talking head on Fox?

Why?
Fallon on January 25, 2013 at 1:05 PM
I think Mitt is a good man, but let’s be frank: his candidacy was just a vessel for getting rid of Obama. It didn’t work out. He’s not some conservative visionary whom we need to lead us now.
If I were him I’d buy an island in some remote place and move my family there to escape what lays ahead.

For the same reason that “Don’t Blame Me, I Voted for Romney” bumper stickers are going to be a growth industry as the next few years play out.
Mr. D on January 25, 2013 at 1:12 PM
Why? He never did before unless there was a benefit to him, and even then, he was guarded.
conservative pilgrim on January 25, 2013 at 1:13 PM
Great. So now I can get in line to NOT listen to his own brand of big government goonery.
MoreLiberty on January 25, 2013 at 1:13 PM
I’m not sure if Romney has anything to add to the conversation – he should have spoken out more on important issues when he was running – it’s a little late now.
Pork-Chop on January 25, 2013 at 1:14 PM
I was hoping he was just going to blast off to the Kolob system and rule his own planet writing decrees in Reformed Egyptian Hieroglyphics.

I’m sorry, but you’re a loser, dude. Never have any opinions bout nothing. Just fade away.

*shrugs* OK.

Wow. That takes me back to my childhood. And yes, I do understand the point.

I think this is a great idea. We need people to speak out constantly and hold the Democrats’ feet to the fire. The more the merrier. The Republicans really haven’t had an “elder” figure doing this who isn’t currently in office. Romney’s a good man, he could do a lot of good for his country. He’s probably the best qualified candidate we ever ran for President. He just isn’t a politician so he doesn’t give speeches like one.
crosspatch on January 25, 2013 at 1:30 PM
Well he is a voice for the pro-business section of the Republican Party. And he is a tremendous fundraiser. So he’ll be a big voice for a section of the GOP, even if some of the Tea Party folks here don’t like him.

Fox News gig in 5,4,3…
Joey24007 on January 25, 2013 at 1:37 PM
Please, retire.
Sorry, but in this day and age civic vitue is a sin.
Romney should only care about the flourishing of his family.
ninjapirate on January 25, 2013 at 1:41 PM
SOMEONE in addition to Rand Paul, need to speak up. I’ll withhold judgment until he has his say.
Joe Mama on January 25, 2013 at 1:41 PM
At this point, what does it matter?
Ward Cleaver on January 25, 2013 at 1:43 PM
If Romney would have kicked Obama’s butt more in the 2nd debate, he might be President now. It’s not enough to be right. Who among us would have LOVED to take Romney’s place in the 2nd debate, after he had Obama on the ropes, and just needed to finish him off? Turn to Obama and point at him and say it, that he was a miserable failure, destroying the country with debt? Sigh.
Paul-Cincy on January 25, 2013 at 1:45 PM
So will I, but in either event will anyone care?
JFKY on January 25, 2013 at 1:56 PM
MAYBE (BIG MAYBE) Romney still has hurt feelings over all the Romney gives women cancer and tortures dogs mems that the dems put out. Maybe, he’ll be able to rip them apart without any worry of blowback as he is not seeking any political office.
He doesn’t need a FOX news gig, they couldn’t pay him enough. But, if he can raise money, and raise points that others are afraid to say boldly – he could be invaluable to the GOP.
At this point, he might as well become a more handsome version of Rush or Mark Levin – he’s almost 70 years old – and has no future in politics, he might as well speak his mind – boldly. He’s got nothing to lose.
joncoltonis on January 25, 2013 at 2:24 PM
Well if he comes out and says, “I failed to call Obama out for his commie hate America ways, I failed to tell the truth of how big a danger he and the Democrat Party are, and I should have gone on the Bill Oriley show and made sure Bill understood the danger and that he too should tell it like it is rather than playing it safe in the middle to keep his earnings up.”
At least that would be better than little boy Bush who hides under his bed in Dallas.

Go away! No one cares what he has to say. He didn’t care enough about the country or the party to even put in an effort.
