The Benghazi blame game is useless
Three lessons here. The first: Virtually every post mortem that relies on the blame game has the same result. There is always someone who asked for more resources and warned of the risk before the event. There are always enough intelligence indicators so that once you go back — knowing the pattern of actual events — it becomes possible to predict the past with 20-20 hindsight.
The problem is that the post mortems and hearings tend to be useless. Every prudent security officer has always asked for more; the indicators that could provide warning with 20-20 hindsight will still be buried in a flood of other reporting that warns of crises that don’t take place; U.S. officials will still have to deal with what intelligence experts call “noise” — the vast amount of reporting and other data that make it impossible to sort out the right information until the event actually occurs and the patterns are known. All of this makes it hard to know what request or warning ever matters. …
The second lesson is that we cannot deal with crises like the political upheavals in the Arab world, or the more direct threats that countries like Iran and North Korea can pose, unless our diplomats and military advisers take risks — and more casualties — in the process. …

Missing the point entirely. It’s that lying liars lie and keep lying because they are scum-sucking bottom feeders.

Yeah, it’s useless if you pretend there’s no such thing as negligence.

1. There never should have been a Benghazi blame game.
2. The issue should have been WHY security was lax – was it political because of Obama’s claim that Libya was now a happy, safe place.
3. The issue should have been WHY the Obama administration lied and said that it was a protest – the answer here is obvious.
Honestly, I think the media purposefully tried to frame the issue as “Republicans blame Hillary for the deaths” so to hide the other two issues.

They lied to cover for their al qaeda allies who they employed as their little Arab Spring army in Libya. They will never bring them to justice. No amount of resources would have changed that.

CNN: Blame game that places blame on Republicans is good. Blame game that pins the blame on our side is bad.

Yeah, when a Democrat screws up, it’s just a fog of war miscommunication – the fault of no one in particular. Happens all the time, you see…
crrr6 on January 24, 2013 at 11:12 AM
Of course, expecting a Democrat administration to accept responsibility for anything and then be held accountable is such an extremist position.
Lucky for the Hildabeast she didn’t serve under Bush.

He’s implying that we’re obsessing about short term security when we should be concerned about long term results, and damn the torpedoes. But if our political echelons have a preconceived idée fixe of what strategy brings good results, or if the very definition of good results is in fundamental dispute, the alleged security obsession is a reasonable halfway house. We should at least be able to avert wholly preventable murders while we make up our minds.

Shorter: It was only four Americans that were killed…what difference does it make..?

It is useless when Democrats are to blame.

Four bumps in the Dem road to total Machiavellian power.
What difference does it make?

P.S. Doesn’t failing to attack a “protest” for fear of hurting someone count as risk aversion too?
Seth Halpern on January 24, 2013 at 12:26 PM
Right. I’m sure it’d be useless if a Republican were in the White House, too. Right?

But the WMD blame game was usefull?
portlandon on January 24, 2013 at 12:50 PM
But of course. When the issue is something that can be spun to make the GOP look bad it is useful to harange and draw out the rehash for decades. When a liberal/Dem is involved we need to move along smartly while minimizng it all.

The long-term results are…those 4 people are still dead because of Hillary.
