David Frum
Joe Biden said what?
While everyone chatters about the President’s speech, something Joe Biden said the day before has surprisingly garnered little attention. A friend writes:
“We still have 68,000 troops in harm’s way in some of the most godforsaken territory in the world,” Biden said, adding that the military members can find comfort “knowing that we back home just remember, we know what’s going on.” I’m sure that referring to our allies as citizens of “some of the most godforsaken territory in the word” will further endear us to the countries that we have occupied for over a decade.

This is Frum’s tipping point?

wow. I’m outraged that we have such a coarse, unrefined, tone-deaf Veep. Let’s make a big deal of it so that we can deflect attention from Hilary and her really outrageous behavior and attitudes. But, Hey! They are liberal Democrats. We need to be all outrage all the the time.
.
Is Frum actually relevant? Is this little comment actually the dumbest Biden has been? Really? In fact, the Korean DMZ came to my mind as “godforsaken territory.”

No Frum is not relevant, it must be a slow news morning. Looks like some of Frum’s fading neocon senses must be tingling at this Biden quote. I was going to say his neocon credentials are the only thing that binds him to the right but that wouldn’t be true. Frum’s paycheck requires him to posture as a conservative that’s sole purpose is to take down any other conservative that disagrees with his liberal patrons at whatever crap hole is publishing him these days.

They sent troops to Detroit?

David Frum meet Joe Biden. He’s been the vice president for over four years and has been saying incredibly stupid stuff for a lot longer than that.

Those giving Frum a hard time do so because they have a knee-jerk reaction to hate everything he writes.
Frum’s correct. Biden ought to be rebuked by all news media.
But he won’t be, because Biden’s on their team.

I’m surprised to hear Biden say that Muslims forsook God and created a false prophet.
Buddahpundit on January 24, 2013 at 10:23 AM
Ummmmm. We don’t generally occupy allies. Nothing wrong with arguing that Biden is an idiot – even Frum has figured that out. But, complaining about it on this basis shows confused thinking. (Sadly, not unusual for Frum.)
