Some customers joked that the brand should now be called “Inflation Chuck” or “Upchuck.”
Trader Joe’s sold about 5 million cases of the wine last year.
Two and a half buck chuck just doesn’t have the same ring to it.

Well there’s always the five cent wine sale at Bevmo.

Heh. It was already about 3 bucks a bottle at the Trader Joe’s in Dallas this Christmas. I just figured it was probably state taxes on wine or something.

It’s been over two bucks for a number of years at the local TJs.

It’s a shame but it had a long glorious run. Still a bargain!!

It’s been Three Buck Chuck for years here in NJ. Still goes down easy, though!

More than a few of those passed through my house.
Won’t serve to guests unless requested. ( Happens a lot )
But Charles Shaw is most certainly the “House Wine” at my place.
Cabernet, anyway. The Merlot sucks.

does that mean Mad Dog 20/20 is now more than a 1.99 ? what about Thunderbird?
soon they’ll be firing up the Champale production line again because that’s all any of us will be able to afford…( and it is, after all, like ” a party in your mouth”)

It had to happen. I bought 16 cases on December 31, 2012. California sales tax was going on on January 1, 2013 because of Proposition 30 and I knew that the Boehner was going to wuss out on the top tax rate. Everything we use is made by a company in the top tax rate.
