Why Benghazi hasn’t brought down Hillary Clinton — and won’t
It’s not that Clinton is blameless for the Benghazi disaster. The attack in Libya cost the lives of four Americans, including a beloved ambassador. It wrecked the aspirations of U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice, who withdrew from consideration as secretary of State. It probably wrecked the aspirations of the president, who seemed like he wanted to nominate Rice. But even if it was Clinton’s State Department that was unprepared, the word “Benghazi” is unlikely to chase the 65-year-old into her next life of books, high-end speeches, public service, needed rest, grandmotherhood (should she be so lucky), and perhaps another run for president.
Why is Hillary so invincible now? She prevailed on Benghazi by having taken so many bullets that she became bulletproof, like her husband. At a certain point you’re like Keanu Reeves in The Matrix, just letting them bounce off you. Perhaps if Clinton wasn’t on her way out of office, the debacle might have damaged her more. She’s also mastered the art of damage control. …
What emerged from the board’s account is a botched security process at State that needs to be fixed and likely will be addressed under Clinton’s successor, John Kerry. Clinton will talk about this Wednesday on the Hill ad nauseam while offering the kind of “the buck stops here” claims that leaders routinely give when their agencies fall apart. Top deputies like Thomas Nides, the deputy secretary for management and resources, have already been to the Hill to take a whipping so Hillary will get less of a lashing. A few mid-level folks have resigned. …
Hillary never aroused Graham and McCain’s ire the way that Chuck Hagel did. Clinton was a model for a celebrity in the Senate and she still has reservoirs of good will on the Hill. She did her work. She stayed relatively quiet. She didn’t showboat. She reached out to Republicans like Tom DeLay on adoption. No one is eager to take on Hillary.

Might have helped get some answers if the mainstream media treated her like Bush was treated.
LOL!

And then magically un-resigned a few weeks later, when they popped into other State Department jobs (probably with promotions or bonuses for their loyalty) at different desks.
And Hillary Clinton’s testimony, just like those phony State Department “resignations” will be nothing more than kabuki theater for the uninformed masses that voted her idiot boss back into office.

Nerf bullets.
fogw on January 23, 2013 at 8:28 AM
Because she is above the law like most everyone in this administration. We can’t even get Killary before a Congressional panel to talk about the whole mess, much less put her on trial.

First, Democrats don’t care if their leaders rape (Bill Clinton), sexually harass (Bill Clinton, countless Kenedies, Dodd, Weiner and on and on), lie (all Democrats), steal (most Democrats especially at the local level, etc. these are resume enhances for democrats because they want the power of state abused to their advantage.
Democrats don’t want a level playing field. They want one tilted to their advantage. Hillary lies and is incompetant? Democrats don’t care asking as they get the goodies shoveled their way. To hell with the country.
Secondly, MOST of America have NO clue what happened in Bengazi. The media is corrupt.
We must fight the media and replace or take over it now. There will be no more opportunities after this.
Fight or be destroyed.

The KPM (Knee Pad Media, can’t remember who coined that phrase here) has worked overtime protecting Obama and his cabinet. If they don’t report on an event it didn’t happen. If the event eventually gets out to the few in the general public who are paying attention, it is quickly dismissed as “partisan politics.”
Fast and Furious
Solyndra
Benghazi
Name your scandal…
It has been tamped down and softened by lack of media coverage. I think the media’s choosing and defending one side’s world view and ideology is equally if not more scary than Obama’s blatant collectivism.

bullets?
media hasnt really covered her at all in the whole 4 years
Flapjackmaka on January 23, 2013 at 8:35 AM
How many months elapsed while Hillary jaunted around the globe, avoiding pointed questions? The uninquisitive media put that teflon coating on her.
Separating her tenure in the Senate from her role as SoS should be a given if we had competence and integrity in the Senate itself instead of a cozy club of schmoozers.

The Democrat masses are MORONS – they don’t think – there is no intellect – they are mindless followers.
We have to come to understand that today’s Democrat voter is an IDIOT

Sadly, I have family members on FB who prove this point over and over again. If you give them the truth, you are lying. They have been taught through the media and our educational system that there is only one way to think about many issues. They can’t argue rationally. Their response is you are wrong. They can’t even consider that someone may hold an opposing viewpoint. I’ve given up on many of them.
Fallon on January 23, 2013 at 8:51 AM
Two reasons
1) The media
2) It doesn’t mean that much to people because it doesn’t interfere with their free stuff.
gophergirl on January 23, 2013 at 8:52 AM
Remember, 900+ FBI files on your political opponents in DC have an indefinite shelf life.
Del Dolemonte on January 23, 2013 at 8:58 AM
The reason is because the Dems circled the wagons. The Senate won’t put any pressure on Hillary or anyone else in the administration. The media has buried the story(and even interjected themselves into the 2nd debate to cover for Barry). And the Democrat base couldn’t give a rat’s ass about it.
As I’ve said before, about the only good thing to come out of the collective yawn from the left regarding scandals like F&F and Benghazi is that the next Republican President can pretty much use it as precedent to shrug off any feigned outrage from them when they inevitably go apesh-t whenever anything bad happens on his watch.

That’s why we are losers. No spine. Afraid to fight.

It is sad. I spoke to liberal buddy the other day – I quoted JFK on taxes – on socialism – on healthcare – etc.,,,, each time he said “that’s BS – JFK did not say that”.
Liberals are idiots along with being deaf and dumb to facts about their own party and it’s history.
jake-the-goose on January 23, 2013 at 9:39 AM
Exactly..,..
Scandals are mostly built on the MSM coverage of them.
If the MSM wants to provide cover for a favored politician….it simply ignores the story or provides endless defense of said politician followed with cries of “racism”…”witch hunt”….”misogynist”….and accusations of “politicizing the issue”…..
This is why Obama can sell military weapons to drug Cartels in Mexico(resulting in hundreds of deaths) without losing so much as a night of sleep over it……
…… but two partisan hacks like Wilson/Plame get national coverage,TV shows, and even movies made about their faux national security scandal that was so weak they couldn’t even get a civil suit brought against it much less anybody found guilty of outing desk jockey Plame.
No widespread media coverage…no scandal…nothing to see here.
Baxter Greene on January 23, 2013 at 9:46 AM
When leftist idiots deny the truth like that to me, I make sure to ask them, “Can you prove that? Where’s your evidence?” – it’s fun to watch their reaction!
Anti-Control on January 23, 2013 at 9:51 AM
The media is the root of our problem.
If MOST Americans don’t hear about a scandal how can they vote accordingly? Statist regimes take over the media for a reason.
We have enormous economic power. If we organize and fight the root of the problem things can change. Or we get destroyed.

So many bullets? What? As usual, she’s the “victim” in all this?
cicerone on January 23, 2013 at 10:07 AM
Huma is going to be jealous; That tongue bath that Babs Boxer just gave Hellary during her turn to “question” her was pretty passionate.
LegendHasIt on January 23, 2013 at 10:09 AM
Hillary seems to “dodge bullets” where ever she goes.

She came off scot free because of one reason, and one reason only:
The corrupt, leftist media killed the story. Not just soft coverage, but actively killed it.
Hillary is their new messiah. They are rapturous with the thought of another Clinton dynasty from 2016-2024
They will do everything in their power to defend their Queen for the next 4 years, they will cover for her worse than the corrupt partisan coverage Obama has benefited from
thurman on January 23, 2013 at 10:23 AM
And remember– killing this story in Sept/Oct not only preserved Obozo’s re-election campaign, it preserved Hillary’s legacy for 2016 and beyond
Covering up this story was priority number one for the leftists in the media
