Dude has no idea. When, in a couple of centuries, humanity’s petrolium-based economy has gone by the wayside, world population will collapse to 19th-century levels from however many billions we have reached at that time.

On our way down, 10 Billion or so people, when not at war over resources, will strip just about everything vegitational off the face of the earth and bespoil most fresh water sources in a vein effort to buy prescious time, like locusts.

Buttmunches like this guy understand this (they are all about peak oil), but their religion of nature worship and humanity-hatred prevents them from advocating the very thing that will prevent what he fears: development of safe, efficient and reliable nuclear energy.

Save the planet and save humanity. Let humanity implode, and it takes the world with it. What’s a nature lovin’, human hatin’ guy s’posed to do?

The only thing I would add is that safe, efficient and reliable nuclear energy already has been developed. It’s the anti-science left that insists on blocking at at every turn. If the apocalypse that Attenborough fears comes to pass, it will be the fault of Obama, Al Gore and himself.

No, the problem is really bad practices (often, but not always, central command economies) that kill local agriculture. Well, that and living in places where you can’t grow food. Hmmmm…. maybe we should let NYC suffer its natural fate, since you can’t grow nearly enough food there to feed everyone! Maybe there’s an upside to this after all………
