It makes no more sense to lionize all illegals as harder worker than the average citizen than it does to demonize all of them as lazy moochers.

As with pretty much all groups of people larger than 1, they have a wide variety of work ethics, motivations and intentions in this country. There are extremely hard working ones that want to make a new life here. There are extremely hard working ones that want to bank enough money to go home to the country that truly has their heart. There are criminals that have found loopholes to exploit. People that are looking for freebies, etc.

Just about the only thing that every single illegal alien has in common is that they have broken at minimum one law (usually more) to be in the country – whether it is crossing the border illegally or overstaying a visa.

I’m not knee-jerk opposed to open borders, but, before we consider it, it seems that we’d need to abolish all forms of public aid that might attract people just looking for handouts, establish how to ensure that criminals/terrorists aren’t crossing along with workers and determine how to ensure that they are paying taxes (one potential method would be replacing income taxes with consumption taxes).

What about Fox News’ viewers? Are they going to go along like sheep?

I reluctantly agree…Fox blows. What was once a lone island for conservative views has become infected with liberalism. Juan, Geraldo, Beckel, have pretty much stunk the place up.

It’s early and still nursing the flu…I just re-read my comment and even I don’t know what the heck I was saying there :/

Basically, I’m all for a secured border. Put up armed guard towers if necessary. But I also realize that something needs to be done about the millions of illegals here already, and those that come here legally and didn’t “jump the fence” so to speak. The only way to deal with that successfully is to institute some form of this “amnesty”.

The problem is, that therm “amnesty” hasn’t really been defined as to what it really would be. It certainly shouldn’t mean total forgiveness and full citizenship. But it should be a pathway to that, as any mass deportations of so many people just isn’t possible.

But this Dream Act crap is bad news. Make 10 million low-skill immigrants legal and you’ll suddenly have 10 million more people on the welfare rolls and, eventually, 10 million more registered Democratic voters. That’s a suicide pact for Republicans.

Does Fox News now have an All-Amnesty lineup? Looks like it. Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly have now fallen in line behind World Citizen Rupert Murdoch’s support of ”sweeping, generous immigration reform,” including a “path to citizenship.” Karl Rove was always on board, of course.

How do we know that they haven’t simply been ordered to support amnesty? After the Soros Crime Family broke Fox News and got Glenn Beck fired, we know that the rest of the organization was ordered to ‘turn down the rhetoric’ by Ailes and Murdoch.

If they have been ordered to support amnesty, would we ever know? In the one-conservative-network world we have, there’s not a lot of job security.

It has nothing to do with immigration (I tend to agree that deporting all illegals is unrealistic). It’s their programming.

The regular Fox & Friends host can charitably be described as airheads, and I can’t stand O’Reilley or Hannity. I also get sick of Michelle Malkin’s purer-than-thou brand of conservatism, Rove’s arrogance, and Dick Morris’ tell-em-what-they-wanna-hear analysis.

It’s purely anecdotal, but I suspect they are hemmoraging conservative viewers. They need to increase the quality of their programming to win me back. As it is, I rely on the internet for news.
