“Neither I, nor any of my deputies, will participate in the enforcement of laws that violate our precious constitutional rights”
In light of recent events I feel I need to make a public statement of my views on this subject. As the Sheriff of Collin County, Texas, I have for the past 28 years served to protect and keep safe all citizens of our county, recognizing the trust placed in me with this profoundly important responsibility.
Unfortunately, the recent surge in the numbers of innocent victims who have died at the hands of unstable criminals has prompted politicians in Washington to seek to pass laws that would seriously erode the constitutional rights of innocent and law abiding citizens.
Neither I, nor any of my deputies, will participate in the enforcement of laws that violate our precious constitutional rights, including our Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.
As long as I remain Sheriff of Collin County, I will not participate in the actions of misguided politicians who seek to impede our citizen’s right to all of the privileges afforded by our Constitution.
Respectfully,
Terry G. Box
Sheriff, Collin County Texas

Every public servant swears an oath of allegiance to the Constitution, not every damn-fool example of seditious nonsense that oozes out of the capitol.

We need thousands more of them and a few very sane governors.

I find it very encouraging that more and more locally elected law enforcement officers are standing up for peoples rights. Good for Sheriff Box.

Don’t know how many times I need to say this … THE ANSWERS WON’T COME FROM WASHINGTON – BUT THROUGH THE STATES EXERCISING THEIR 10TH AMENDMENT RIGHTS.
That’s why I don’t understand why everyone is upset when Obama pulls liberty killing stunts like EO’s for gun control. Hell, I wish the guy had actually tried to BAN the guns via EO – there would be a damn revolution on the streets now.
Embrace this – it will lead to a new American awakening eventually – let the libs be libs – unencumbered by opposition in Washington – but opposed everywhere else. Hell, they’re too stupid to realize they can’t win this game.

The Utah Sheriffs Association sent a similar letter to Obama.

That’s MY Sheriff! And you can assure he’ll get backing from our County Judge and County Commissioners. You want conservatism? You move to Collin County, Texas (And our little Tea Party is a BIG part of keeping it that way!)

I wonder how many know of Sherriff Mack and the lawsuit he won against the Clinton Administration when he tried to erode our gun rights. I only learned of this this past week. Mark Taylor was subbing for Dennis Prager and had him on to talk about what local communities and sheriffs can do to push back against the Federal Governent and its attempt to destroy the 10th Amendment along with my of our Constitutional Rights.
I like what he had to say.

Sherriff Mack is great. He consistently goes around educating people about the 10th Amendment. He did joint events with Debra Medina I believe when she was campaigning for governor of Texas.
Firefly_76 on January 22, 2013 at 9:00 PM
Yea, he was a joy to listen to and a much needed boost in my confidence about what power we still have as little people against these would be tyrant leftists in the federal government.

Sounds reasonable enough to me.

Why next people will be questioning the laws surrounding the Spotted Owl or EPA regulations or Global Warming or…well I can’t go on. You Clingers are just so full of Hate for our black President!
