Is Obama trying to destroy the GOP?
Every one of these issues fractures Republicans. The speech, devoid as it was of olive branches, played into the emerging Republican consensus that Obama is trying to divide and destroy the GOP.
They are right about the division part, though likely mistaken when they impute a motive to destroy. As in, he is proposing comprehensive gun control and immigration reform – instead of teeny slices of those packages – in order to set GOP factions against each other and blow up the party. New York Times columnist David Brooks recently made that argument, yearning for the “learn to crawl” piecemeal approach but anticipating that Obama would choose “kill the wounded” instead.
By that logic, coming from Brooks and others, you could assume a president was aiming to destroy the opposition party every time he or she did anything that attracted some opposition votes but not all of them. Bush-era initiatives that divided Democrats would include tax cuts, the Iraq war, and his Medicare prescription-drug program. Did he propose invading Iraq because it would pit Democrat against Democrat?
Please. It’s far more likely that Bush believed in those causes and peeled off as many Democrats as he could in order to win passage or, if he had enough votes, to earn a bit of bipartisanship and justification for his “uniter, not divider” campaign slogan.

You see ill motives and bad faith may always be applied to Republicans, but never to the god king.

She’s asking this about the guy who said they bring a knife, you bring a gun, get in their face, I won, and who openly mocks his opponents?

No doubt about it. He’s also enlisted the majority of the media so his effort to annihilate the Republicans and discourage conservatives is even more effective. Ø and his gang are a menace to conservative principles.

I think you leave out a huge difference in the two men, listen to the way they speak. I don’t believe W ever denigrated the opposition whereas Obama makes it quite clear that those who don’t think as he does are not worthy of scraping Bo’d dog poop off his shoes, let alone being part of the answer.

Here was Jill Lawrence’s take on Obama & Sandy Hook http://www.nationaljournal.com/politics/obama-s-new-frame-gun-rights-vs-the-right-to-life-20130116
She says not a word about his exploiting the deaths of children for his own end, but groups Obama with the famous presidents in her closing and puts Gadsden-flag fliers as the opposition.
Lincoln wasn’t a Founder, and Lawrence seems to have forgotten that earlier occasion when “Don’t Tread On Me,” was first used.

The Lefties are really getting boring—especially the Leftist media. They’re so predictable.

Does the pope crap in the woods? Or something like that.

People still don’t know or care what a Chicago Community Agitator is, do they?
Community Agitators divide and turn people against each other for personal gain, at the expense of their “people.”
For example: Just look at what Obama is doing to the job prospects of African-American youth. Do you really think he cares? If he did, he would be embracing conservative school choice and free market reforms, wholesale. But he’s not. Actions speak louder than words.

And the people who supported him are getting hit too. The Obama Campaign is bad news for everyone. What a disaster.

He has to.
The democrats get their votes the old fashioned way – they buy them. But we’re broke, the pie is shrinking rapidly, soon the various grievance mongers, union thugs, and other assorted moochers will be killing each other for bigger slices of that pie.
The only way they’re going to maintain power – a single party fascist state, this way they don’t have to buy off their plantation slaves, they can simply rule over them.
Thus, they need to destroy the GOP and any conservative/constitutionalist forces in the country.

Well duh. Conservatives are the last bastion to keep communism at bay. If he can fracture that front, it makes his job of instituting communism a lot easier.
ButterflyDragon on January 22, 2013 at 9:00 PM
He’s leaving that job to the GOP itself but he won’t lift a finger to stop them.
lexhamfox on January 22, 2013 at 9:00 PM
Enlist hell, that is an all volunteer force working for ‘that guy’ and his fellow travelers. MCCARTHY WAS RIGHT and we ar now realizing the hell that the communists will serve.

There will be 20,000,000,000 reasons when he leaves office why America will eventually figure it out and give new life to the loyal opposition.
Romney received 48 percent of the vote. I am tiring of all the negativity.

Only in so much as that has been the goal of the left wing since it was infiltrated by communists.

From the looks of things the R’s need little help with that. Or 0 needs to supply little help with that.

Are people really still asking this question as if they don’t really know?
SouthernGent on January 22, 2013 at 9:36 PM
Why should he bother trying to destroy something as feckless as the GOP?
ddrintn on January 22, 2013 at 9:39 PM
Yes, I SO enjoyed President Romney’s inauguration yesterday.
ddrintn on January 22, 2013 at 9:40 PM
.
I can’t muster up any sympathy for them. They “believe” they are better off with a Ø White House. They labor under great and pervasive delusions. They cannot think or analyze their own situations. They are looking fro someone to “save” them. They should be made to bear the greater burden of their political choices.
ExpressoBold on January 22, 2013 at 9:53 PM
It’s easy to destroy a bunch of wussies, even if Obama is the biggest eunuch in the world.
Schadenfreude on January 22, 2013 at 10:28 PM
The sheeple who supported them deserve all the misery and scorn they should get (but probably never will). I hate them all with an unbridled passion, and wish nothing but cruel fates for them all.
Each and every one of them should be forbidden from voting for the rest of their lives.
Myron Falwell on January 22, 2013 at 10:53 PM
Are you lying or simply uninformed? He
earnedreceived 47%? You’re off by ~33% of the actual difference. If you are afraid of facing your losses you will never profit. Also, this has to change or our taxes will be at French levels with a few more elections like the last. Republican Party is dying. We can save it or throw in with the loser extremists/nationalists wing who will earn even smaller percentages of all voters while increasing their white voter rolls to the levels of blacks voting for Dems.
