Missing the point on immigration
The news release about the report announced: “The U.S. government spends more on federal immigration enforcement than on all other principal federal criminal law enforcement agencies combined. …
The first problem with this is that the report’s central claim is false. As the names of the relevant agencies suggest — Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE); Customs and Border Protection (CBP) — much of what they do has nothing to do with immigration. Recent ICE news releases, for instance, highlight a drug seizure, the sentencing of a child pornographer and a guilty plea by someone trying to smuggle dinosaur fossils. Important activities, no doubt, but ones clearly unrelated to immigration enforcement.
Beyond that, the report focuses on the wrong thing. In typical Washington bureaucratic fashion, it confuses resource inputs with policy results. There has indeed been a significant increase in funding for immigration enforcement, and this increase was desperately needed after decades of neglect — something that became undeniable after 9/11. But to claim, as Doris Meissner wrote in The Post, that a certain percentage increase in appropriated funds has allowed the nation to build “a formidable immigration enforcement machinery” is incorrect. …
These are not trivial, last-minute agenda items designed to postpone consideration of an amnesty. An immigration enforcement machinery that lacks these elements is simply incomplete.

But Hannity & O’Reilly love the Obama-Rubio amnesty plan! (and that has nothing to do with the fact that they both work for amnesty champion Rupert Murdoch)

Just send Holder to the border.

I say we allow instant amnesty for any voting-age illegal immigrant who will sign an enforceable pledge to vote straight Republican in perpetuity.

The Obama administration is building its narrative to push through their proposals on immigration reform. Rubio’s plan, as I have heard him explain it, is much more vigorous on the requirements for citizenship. I think conservatives should start with the Rubio plan and reach out to him to build upon it before we end up with straight-up amnesty from the democrats. Just saying–as one who is completely fed-up and p*ssed at the illegal immigration situation.
As an aside, I loved the interview last night on Hannity of a sheriff in Oregon who stated that if he didn’t have to enforce the federal immigration laws he saw no reason why he should have to enforce Obama’s executive orders on guns. Loved it.

Well, maybe you are right and Rubio is all BS. I am, however, willing to hear more from him on the upcoming immigration debate before I completely disregard anything he has to say.

I’ve always wondered… if we find illegals in this country, why not give them two options? 1) Deportation and seizure of all assets currently within the confines of the US or 2) Start them on the path to citizenship. Have them fill out forms. Make their bail money set out to be the cost of a background check and citizenship forms. Then suspend deportation proceedings so long as they’re on path to citizenship. (Of course, any criminality suspends part 2 and instead gets them door #1).
It’s not really amnesty, and it costs about $1000 to apply to be a citizen. They’re here, so lets get them a green card and get them started on being a real taxpayer.

because it will be a win for the illegal aliens, that 1000 dollars will be waived or be paid by open borders groups meanwhile more illegal aliens will come into the country and the whole process will start over again.

thanks for the links. Very sad how people are made into sheeple. Meanwhile, the islamists do not accept the culture of obedience. They will organize, raise their children to be outsiders, and direct all their efforts towards tearing down the nations they colonize
Correct. There is an endless supply of illegals outside the country. Some employers will always prefer under the radar employees. That was the reason so many illegals could make it here: they displaced legal workers because they are a financial advantage.
That will continue with new meat, if amnesty passes. The majority of the current group are Mexicans raised to aspire to socialism. In Mexico they are taught in schools that US soil was stolen from Mexico. They are already voting to some extent and they place their votes accordingly. The DEM party encourages this separatism, as a power wedge.
Zero gain for the US

No Mark, you missed the point. It’s all about Democrat voters and chain migration.
