Al Qaeda-linked jihadis claim they’re holding 41 hostages in Algeria, seven of them Americans
In a statement BP said the site was “attacked and occupied by a group of unidentified armed people,” and some of its personnel are believed to be “held by the occupiers.”
The number and identities of the hostages was still unclear, but Ireland announced that a 36-year-old married Irish man was among them, while Japan and Britain said their citizens were involved as well. A Norwegian woman said her husband called her saying he had been taken hostage…
A group called the Katibat Moulathamine, or the Masked Brigade, called a Mauritanian news outlet to say one of its affiliates had carried out the operation on the Ain Amenas gas field, taking 41 hostages from nine or 10 different nationalities, including the seven Americans.

7 Americans? Get the special forces in, now. And obliterate them.

The Mali terrorists are recruiting ‘soldiers’ as young as 12; how are we going to keep these children safe from ‘gun violence’?

So this plant is part owned by the British and Norwegians. Probably explains why there apparently was no armed security force protecting it.
Tc0061 on January 16, 2013 at 1:38 PM
If only there had been an assault weapons ban in place, this would’ve never happened.

A jihadi in America is holding 300 million Americans hostage.

I don’t know if people remember how bad terrorism was in Algeria in the 90s. I would hear these reports and they would never explain who was doing this crap. They would go into small towns and start beheading everyone — hundreds of people in one night. There was a guy called “Mo the beheader” — last I heard was that had fled to Beirut before the war.
Blake on January 16, 2013 at 1:42 PM
The “GUN FREE ZONE!” signs were written in Norwegian, none of the terrorists understood it.

Shhhh… Don’t bother Barky, he’s busy in his office with a bunch of little children violating the second amendment.

So there is were all the weapons Obama handed out to the Jihadist, who he thought were not jihadist because they told hem they were not, in Mali went.
You know maybe we should all declare ourselves progressives, set up a fake “green factory”, and get Obama to give us lots of money, heck maybe guns too, which we could then use to set our own conservative political party and retake America. Come on folks we need to think outside the box.
William Eaton on January 16, 2013 at 1:54 PM
That is just not possible, Obama said Al-qaeda is on the run.
ctmom on January 16, 2013 at 1:56 PM
That’s becuase Norway doesn’t make their islamic terrorist refugees (immigrants) learn Norwegian. Kind of like how the US doesn’t make hispanic immigrants learn English.
Tc0061 on January 16, 2013 at 1:56 PM
But Al Qaeda is on the run…Obama told us so!
His “Mission Accomplished” moment has arrived.

An Al-Qaeda group simply told Obama they are “anti Al-Qaeda” and Obama gave them money and weapons. I mean that is basically what it sounds like we did in Mali. This forced the Mali government to ask the French for help to clean up the mess we started.
You can’t make this stuff up if you tried…

Maybe we can get the French to invade Mexico in order to clean up after Obama handed out all those weapons to the drug cartels.
Heck maybe France can just save time by going to the source of the problem and invade the U.S. to help liberate us from another king.
