Rubio pushes back at Colin Powell’s diversity criticism of GOP
“The Republican Party is the party that [has] placed two Hispanics in the U.S. Senate,” Rubio told Tantaros, “and we have an African-American senator in the United States Senate.”

Rubio 2016!
terryannonline on January 14, 2013 at 4:04 PM
Yeah, and the last Republican President appointed two blacks(including a woman) as his Secretaries of State. I forget the name of the first one though. Maybe Colin Powell can help me out with that.

In-Obama’s-Colon Powell…the man without a soul.
He used every party to advance, by hue alone. I’t prefer that he declare himself a communist.
Schadenfreude on January 14, 2013 at 4:08 PM
That’s one irony of Powell’s comments.
Say did he ever go rally behind Mia Love or any other minority GOP candidate?

But he wasn’t a Republican.
Schadenfreude on January 14, 2013 at 4:09 PM
I’d prefer that he…just go away, the fool. He has no soul, is a liar, pretender, a cheat all along. Also, he lives in his wife’s apron.

don’t have time to do the research but i’m pretty sure the answer is NO.

Cruz 2016. If we’re going to nominate a Cuban-American Senator, why pick the one that is pushing amnesty?
Jon0815 on January 14, 2013 at 4:11 PM
It diminishes you to even respond to trolls like Colin Powell, Bill Maher, Rosie O’Donnell and the like.
Buddahpundit on January 14, 2013 at 4:12 PM
Powell backed Obama over McCain. Think about that for a minute. He picked a Democrat with nothing but contempt for the military over an old friend with a distunguished military record who also ostensibly shared his political beliefs. I think Powell is intimately acquainted with a Republican who puts race above all else. I think he sees one every time he looks in the mirror.

Forget diversity!
How about competency? Or maybe intelligence? Patriotism works too.
Ditkaca on January 14, 2013 at 4:14 PM
Why does the ‘GOP’ continually play into the liberal racist tag?
Why is any ‘GOPer’ even responding to this? Every time they do, they merely promote that meme.
Why not simply respond: ‘the facts speak for themselves.’
If Rubio, et al, are the future of the ‘GOP,’ the ‘GOP’ has a problem.

Mr. Cave in to amnesty calls out RINO Obama voter.
Big f deal.
Rubio needs to grow a brain and some courage.

Reminds me of the city council scene from Mother Jugs, & Speed:
Warren: I should like to point out that the counsel notes with admiration the efforts Mr Taylor has made to hire minorities.
Fishbine: Oh, yeah? Yeah? What about a woman? Does he have a woman? I do. She’s out there somewhere right behind me.
Mother: This, uh — this is, uh, the woman… and, uh, I feel that she’s worth 4 blacks, the future draft rights to 3 Chicanos, and a Chinaman to be named later, sir.

Couldn’t agree more. It’s refreshing to have the worms out of the wood-work, so-to-speak, at least in my view.
jersey taxpayer on January 14, 2013 at 4:16 PM
There will be a moment when Rubio gets called out for this shit by Ted Cruz.
At that point Rubio will be seen by all for the con job RINO he in fact is.

Can we please stop pretending that this Obama mouthpiece is a Republican? This guy is worse than a RINO. Please stop the charade and get it over with Colin. Get out of the closet and come out as the socialist you are.

Powell sounds like an MSNBC host. I’m so sick of this talk about racial “code” and “dog whistles.” People that continually play this card are intentionally dividing the nation.
TarheelBen on January 14, 2013 at 4:21 PM
I hate all 3 of those guys.

It’s also up on Mediaite, with the typical deranged lefty comments.
idesign on January 14, 2013 at 4:23 PM
If you had used “defensively” in place of “even”, I’d agree with the statement 100%.
The GOP needs to learn how to productively go on offense.

Let’s hope he does.
From what I know of Cruz, he’s an American breath of fresh air (unlike Christie, who’s been a rino breath of air (I live here, I don’t need to explain further.)

Um, because I’m not an ideological purist.
terryannonline on January 14, 2013 at 4:37 PM
I am sick of the media putting Powel out there as a republican. Anyone who campaigned for Obama has lost his R credentials. Actually anyone who even voted for Obama should also leave the party.
Bensonofben on January 14, 2013 at 4:51 PM
Exactly!
So far he is still one of the best bets we have. It could change but not yet. He is better than Christie, Paul Ryan, etc.
Many of those who hate Rubio’s immigration reform are so devoted to our law codes that I fear that if the U.S. congress passed a law that said “bend over and kiss your own ass” they would do it and forget about them standing strong in defense of gun rights, they will just role over and hand up their guns if restrictive gun control is passed.
They are that 1/3 that did not join either side during the revolution that John Adams talked about. Thus was their outrage so great at the all the law breaking going on during that time.
William Eaton on January 14, 2013 at 5:58 PM
FIFY.
xblade on January 14, 2013 at 6:30 PM
And you’re part of the 1/3 siding with the other side. You even make stupid arguments like they do.
