It’s come to this
The two men, 45, from the Antwerp region were both born deaf and sought euthanasia after finding that they would also soon go blind.
The pair told doctors that they were unable to bear the thought of not being able to see each other again.

This is a terrible story.

How long before it stops being voluntary and starts becoming mandatory?
Oh wait – it already has.

Speechless.

Surprisingly, I am okay with this.
Women have the right to kill their unborn children on little more than a whim. The US Government uses a half-billion of taxpayer dollars to help sustain and even promote it.
I think everyone should have the right to die – kill themselves if they wish – but not on a whim. After some counseling and in a Doctor’s attendance is just fine and dandy though. Sure does save on stray bullets and loved ones making ghastly surprise discoveries.
You wanna die and do it ‘legally’? Wanna die and just don’t have the nerve?
Go to Belgium.
Death tourism is booming over there.
Go for it.

In China they go to the homes of ‘suspects’ of any kind, to harvest.

I suspect there was something behind the Hippocratic Oath. I suspect the fear of a conflict of interest was part of Hippocrates’ motivation. We now ignore the perform no abortion part and are working towards negating the do no harm part as well. We have a living oath. Weirdly it leads to dying.

In an old scifi short story from the 60s you got your organs harvested for committing any crime. The kicker was at the end when you found out that the heinous crime committed by the main character was jay walking.

At the very end:
Daily Mirror on the same story:
Socialism is a political philosophy of death—not just of an economy or liberty—it destroys everything it touches. It’s view of who man is reduces him to random meaninglessness.

And note the doctors’ ghoulish comments — that it was a beautiful thing, they were peaceful.
Sick and twisted. God help us.

Hm. It’s hard to judge one way or another as it’s hard to even imagine what it would be like to be both blind and deaf. That’s a lot of isolation and sensory deprivation. Don’t know if I could do it myself.
But how do you get consent from an Alzheimer’s patient or a demented person? That’s extremely scary.

Coleman’s marxist history was no secret. I took a Labor and Politics course at Wayne State (downtown Detroit) 20 years ago, the Professor admit in class the he, the professor, was a member of the communist party and he mentioned frequently that Coleman had also been a member. A statement that he stopped repeating after I developed the habit of pointing out what a mess the city was right after he would mention it.
