Coca-Cola: We fight obesity too, you know
The company will begin airing a two-minute advert on various US television channels as of today, laying out Coca-Cola’s record of providing drinks with fewer calories over the years and notes that weight gain is the result of consuming too many calories of any kind – not just soda.
Coca-Cola says the campaign will kick off a variety of moves that help address obesity in the year ahead, such as providing more diet options at soda fountains…
“We have not done a good enough job in telling our story and being consistent in telling our story,” she said, noting the company had to be careful to remain consistent with its brand voice and avoid sounding “preachy.”

Good luck with fighting the Left’s narrative, Coca-Cola.

Now that Coke has accepted the Left’s position that their product and not people’s choices cause obesity, it’s a matter of time before they start paying “recompense.”

Never apologize for the ambrosia that is Cherry Coke.
NEVER.

Coke has been a willing victim of the left’s shakedown for years.

Coke, please.

This would have been a better advertising push: “F*ck You, We’re Coke!”

Hostess is next.
Ooops.

Once smoking is dead, we’ll need a new villain.

Related, there is some weapons grade silliness at HuffPo in the form of a column by Laurie David, that idiot climate change woman who was married to Larry David. She is a huge control freak.
She is campaigning to get Beyonce kicked out of singing at Obama’s inauguration ceremony because–get this–Beyonce is doing ads for Pepsi, and Pepsi causes childhood obesity. There is a petition you can sign and everything.
I think sodas are bad for kids too, but this is beyond parody.

I think a better one would have been: “I’m Coca Cola, b!tch!”

I have a Coke and a smile most days.

Good for them. It’s not really contradictory in the least, given that, contra Bloomberg et al, it’s people’s choices that makes them fat. That’s not Coke’s fault – they’re just the most successful seller of the stuff.
As P.J. O’Rourke once observed (re: the dictatorial authority of the SCOTUS in Parliament of Whores), “Life is full of ironies for the stupid.”

Drinking a Diet Coke as I’m grading papers, yes I am. Been drinking it for as long as they’ve been making it, and lemme tell ya…it beats the “coke lite” they offer in Norway all to pieces.

Coke sucks.
